Eight ways to wear a suede leather jacket

Huit manières de porter un blouson en cuir suédé

As part of the restocking of our camel leather jacket, the Simon , we thought it would be nice to accompany it with outfit advice that concerns suede leather in a more general way.

Good reading !

Before our Gimmick video look analysis series, Jordan brought you an article showing Eight Ways to Wear Green Pants .

I want to take this concept and offer you inspiring looks commented around a mid-season garment: the suede leather jacket.

More supple and comfortable than its smooth leather counterpart, I also find that it is a little less intimidating, more accessible from a style point of view.

On the way.

Outfits 1 and 2: double blow

This visual by Andreas Weinas is interesting because it shows two very different ways of wearing the same jacket.

This one is dark and its shape is reminiscent of the bomber jacket with its shirt collar and two patch pockets with flaps.

Left look: chic

These are the pants we see the most here. It is the lightest element of the outfit. Grey, in wool, its cut is impeccable.

The other two items of clothing, dark brown, are more in the background: smooth leather boots and a polo shirt buttoned up to the neck.

This outfit is easy to read because it is made up of only two color families.

Also note the use of the double zip . The raised bottom allows you to show off the high waist of the pants.

Right look: casual

On the right, we have a much more casual look: white t-shirt and blue jeans, it always works with a brown jacket .

The sneakers are also in suede leather, but in taupe color. It's lighter than the jacket.

There is no need to do more here: it is well executed and reproducible at will.

Outfit 3: casual chic

Harrington Baracuta

I like Mr. Porter's looks.

The styling is just for those who appreciate the casual chic style . The outfits are accessible while being well crafted.

The jacket is once again brown and dark. The shape changes: it's a Harrington with two slanted patch pockets and a high, buttoned collar.

We find our dear white t-shirt seen in the previous outfit, combined in layering with a checkered shirt in light tones.

At the bottom, white canvas sneakers and well-cut beige chinos .

This choice of pants is interesting : it both complements and contrasts with the jacket. It complements because beige is part of the chromatic palette of brown. It contrasts because this light color stands out well from the dark brown of the jacket.

This is a pretty easy outfit to recreate . Vary the shirt depending on what you have. As long as she's relaxed, it'll work.

Outfit 4: still a little casual chic

Here is another relatively simple outfit before moving on to stronger proposals.

Where the previous outfit relied more on a monochrome, this one is based on a more marked contrast of colors, simple but effective: white, green, blue .

These simple colors are where you expect them: blue pants, white sneakers and t-shirt.

The outfit finds its spice with this jacket in a very beautiful dark olive green.

You don't have to wear a green shirt underneath even though it works great here. To make it simpler, wear a light blue shirt.

Outfit 5: Play it like Shuhei

Swipe right to see the full outfit.

So.

Shuhei Nishiguchi is a great source of stylistic inspiration.

Layering with a trucker jacket as an intermediate layer between a sweater and a raincoat is brilliant.

Two color families stand out:

  • On one side, three clothes in three different shades of brown . The suede leather jacket is dark. The coat is light. The pants are intermediate in color and make the binder
  • On the other, two dark clothes : a navy blue sweater and black desert boots. I tell myself that navy blue desert boots, like those from Sanders , would have been even more appropriate here

If we look closer, we can appreciate some nice details:

  • A discreet green bandana
  • You will see by sliding on the third photo, on the far right, that the pants have a contrasting braid along the outer leg. This detail is taken from the tuxedo pants

Outfit 6: mix of styles

Here, the base is casual: white t-shirt, white jeans. The Van's , red, can be replaced by another color. I would like to see black or beige ones.

This outfit finds its interest thanks to two other garments:

  • First up, a military-inspired green padded vest
  • Next, a tobacco-colored western shirt. Yes, the western shirt, traditionally made of denim , is offered here in suede leather

You will notice that green and brown go very well together.

This look comes from the Italian brand Fortela , whose military and workwear inspirations are assumed.

The whole thing is coherent and works well. If white pants don't tempt you, replace them with gray chinos or blue jeans .

Outfit 7: confident workwear

A very nice workwear outfit.

We once again change the shape of the jacket and this time we arrive at a trucker jacket. This jacket, which comes from Levi's , is in a visually very hairy suede leather.

This intermediate-colored brown is very versatile: lighter and brighter than a dark brown but less than a camel.

Two denim items of clothing are combined together: the light shirt and the dark jeans contrast well.

On the feet, suede boots reminiscent of the jacket. These shoes from the Visvim brand are intriguing. You can easily replace them with a pair of more classic lace-up boots. Red Wing Moc Toe models for example.

Simple in composition, excellent in execution.

Outfit 8: suede

Did you think that the fringed jacket from the film Le Daim with Jean Dujardin was a bit ridiculous and impossible to wear well? Think again.

Here's how to do it.

The jacket is fawn in color, very warm and welcoming.

It is combined with a light beige turtleneck, ecru pants and chestnut suede boots.

This outfit looks harmonious because the colors are natural.

The background decor contributes to this effect.

In this respect I find that the cap is almost too much, the navy blue breaking up this set of soft colors.

Hey, we make suede leather jackets too!

I think clothing can be a beautiful means of personal development. I like unstructured jackets, straight pants and loafers.
