The idea for this podcast came to me when I was back in Tours for the weekend.
For the first time in a while, I went to several entry-level boutiques like Jules, Zara , Brice, and Devred . I was then surprised to find that there were a number of interesting things ...
That's all it took to dedicate a podcast to it! With Rafik and Luca, we will therefore ask ourselves:
- what is meant by "entry level",
- what is the evolution among certain brands,
- what are the entry-level pieces that could be interesting,
- what techwear is worth at Celio and the costume department at Devred ,
- how these brands can offer such attractive prices,
- what is the trade-off to be made between budget and ethical concerns,
- what we have the right to expect from the H&M Studio collection,
- how is this increase in the standards of these brands explained,
- what is the latest nugget spotted at Monoprix ,
- why favor suede leathers in entry-level shoes,
- how this price range allows you to try new styles, and what are the limits,
- if we can consider SuitSupply as entry-level,
- to what extent layering is relevant for small budgets.
References discussed
- Hast and Maisons Standards which we no longer present,
- Anthony Garçon and his costumes,
- The inevitable SuitSupply ,
- Rudy's, Orban's, Loding and Bexley , for their shoes,
- Sawa and JUCH, sneaker brands,
- Mr Porter, designer e-shop.
How to listen to BonneGueule podcasts?
For the moment, they are hosted on our Soundcloud channel (to which you can subscribe) which in my opinion is the most practical, whether you are on a computer or a phone.
You'll also find them on iTunes .
How do I listen to the podcast offline on my phone?
Whether you're on an iPhone or an Android phone, it's simple:
- On iOs : you have an Apple application, installed natively, called “Podcasts”. Simply type “BonneGueule” in the search box, subscribe and, depending on your settings, either our podcasts will download automatically, or you can do so with a simple tap. Apple has made a very well-written guide on using this resourceful application.
- On Android : there are a plethora of equivalent applications. Simon, the geekiest of the team, uses “ Podcast & Radio Addict ”. The principle is exactly the same: you find BonneGueule in the search field, you subscribe and you download in the application.
- COMING SOON: the BonneGueule podcast will be on Deezer!
It's your podcast: we're waiting for your suggestions
The format being very easy to create, we are more open than ever to your suggestions for topics . No need for 10 hours of writing and 5 hours of illustrations here: we can be very reactive.
So don't hesitate to suggest your ideas to us, even those that have nothing to do with men's fashion .
If there is a format where we can make small parentheses in terms of the themes covered, it is this one. And then I realized during the Webinar that it was a lot of fun for me to convey things without an obvious link with men's clothing, even if we inevitably come back to it (Geoffrey also likes this exercise).
See you in two weeks for the next podcast.
