Suitsupply

Our opinion

Updated July 2022

We note an increase in prices for the brand, between 2021 and 2022. From what we see, prices have increased on the majority of product families (suits, jackets, pants, knitwear, etc.).

We believe that this increase comes in particular from the increase in material prices due to the current economic situation.

To give an example, the “Napoli” suits, which represent the entry level of the brand, were priced between €260 and €300 and are now priced at €369.

The offer remains rich and relevant, the fabrics remain good (mixtures of natural fibers, color, etc.), but this increase should be kept in mind.

On another note, we were also told in the comments some mixed customer experiences in the brand's Parisian store: recommended suits that were a little too tight and imperfect alterations in particular.

Updated March 2021

The quality/price ratio of suits, jackets and pants at Suitsupply is very good.

The fabrics come from renowned Italian mills. The construction is semi-canvassed or completely canvassed for more high-end models.

There are many choices of colors, patterns and many cuts available. The price range is wide: from €259 to €699. Everyone can find something for themselves.

In the same spirit, coats are also interesting . Keep in mind that the €299 models are not very thick, and therefore not very warm.

The shirts are pretty good. You will find two cuts: fitted, extra fitted. Always Italian fabrics and with lots of choice.

The stitches are of variable interest. For basics (plain sweater), you'll find better elsewhere. For more original ones (cable knits, thick cardigan), you can let yourself be tempted.

In terms of accessories, the range of ties and pocket squares is relevant.

We don't really recommend anything related to leather (gloves, shoes, bags, belts, etc.). Some designs are quite successful, the prices rather attractive but the quality is a little below, especially compared to the competition: it is better to turn to a brand specializing in leather.

The brand offers a service called "custom made" , available for pants, jackets, shirts and vests. This is personalized clothing: we choose a fabric, details and a size from a certain range. This offer is interesting for those who want clothing in a specific color or in a specific size, without necessarily resorting to a tailor-made service.

The manufacturing of Suitsupply clothing is quite good although it can sometimes have some imperfections.

Concerning the manufacturing locations, ethical and social commitments of the brand, you will find a lot of information in their sustainabilty report: 2018/2019, and 2020.

You will learn in particular that around 2/3 of the brand's products are made in China (the suits in general are made in Asia) but that there is also some European manufacturing (Italy, England, Portugal, etc.).

In conclusion : we can generally recommend Suitsupply, especially on suits, jackets, pants. For other categories, the interest varies, this must be seen on a case by case basis.
