Yes I know.

Nowadays, it is more and more difficult to choose your wedding guest outfit. Blame it on the casualization of daily life. And, by extension, that of major events of this kind.

We come to wonder if sneakers are acceptable in this context. If you're wondering, know that I answer it in the video. And, without giving too much away, I can tell you that my answer starts with an “n” and rhymes with pumpkin.

But OK !

Not all marriages are the same , we agree. And what will be acceptable to one will not be acceptable to another.

So I'm here to shed light on this dark matter. And deliver my best outfits for all types of weddings. Except the themed ones of course: you won't find a Chewbacca bow tie outfit in this video. My apologies in advance for the disappointment caused.

I hope these five outfit ideas bring you satisfaction.

And if you are not the guest but the groom, you can read this article that I wrote in the sweat of my brow on a moonless night.

An alternative to the navy blue suit

The navy blue suit is a classic. Maybe a little too much for some. It might make them think of the office. And for this reason I can understand wanting to wear something else.

And, while grays can be elegant, I know they can also be austere. And so, I recommend brown as above. Moreover, a certain brand called BonneGueule will soon offer one. But I didn't tell you anything.🤫

Mismatched and white jacket

Maybe it's not easy to wear a white jacket, but by the sea, it's another story. Don't mind that drooping hat. That's not the point.

Focus instead on this stunning off-white/cream linen, tuxedo-style jacket with shawl collar. It's amazing, isn't it? I'm won over and worn like that, it's exquisite! It almost seems like he doesn't care. Besides, I think he really doesn't care. He's not here, saying "Be careful of the red wine"! “Don’t spin the towels so violently Albert, you’ll throw potatoes on my jacket!”

Total detachment. Without thinking about clothing stain remover.

I like.

Seersucker

Yes, it looks a lot like outfit 4 with the chinos and seersucker jacket. But I just wanted to offer you this alternative to my gray Oliver Spencer jacket. The most common seersucker jacket will be white with blue stripes like here.

And it's very easy to match. This way is probably one of the best. The shirt doesn't have to be yellow. But let's just say that it goes very well with the tan moccasins.

The final word...

The whole challenge of a wedding guest's outfit is to find a balance between enough and not too much. It's perilous. When in doubt, opt for a navy suit, a white or pale blue shirt, a burgundy, green or black tie and dark brown brogues (except with a black tie).

But as ceremonies of this kind are rare, I would also advise you to treat yourself. We hardly dress in suits anymore and in everyday life most people opt for casual clothes.

So seize the opportunity that presents itself to you: prepare an outfit that you will enjoy wearing. Maybe get a new suit made. Or do you find a nice shirt-tie combination that's a bit out of the ordinary without jumping out at you, a bit like in the first outfit in the video.

But above all, have fun. As you know, this is the categorical imperative of Panache!

Hey, we also do wedding suits!

“Clothes are there to have fun, so have fun” is the phrase I say the most in my videos. Style is not a set of rules, it is a field of possibilities. You can wear anything, you just have to find your way!
