Summary
Stoffa )The concept of preferred brand is a bit shaky.
Already because the products of the same brand are often unequal in their quality and thus we can never really qualify a brand as good or bad but a product can.
Already.
And then, it's a concept with an expiration date. Brands change. Inspirations evolve. And it is not wise to reason in absolutes.
But that being said, I still often come back to these brands that I am about to mention. And this for various reasons specific to each one which I will develop next: this concerns the products as such of course but also the artistic direction sometimes, the styling other times, the stylistic direction of the collections or sometimes the concept of the brand .
But enough bla-bla, I'll go into detail.
1. OLD JOE BRAND
A brand that I discovered in 2019 thanks to Clément browsing the e-shop.
Field Notes Chapter One from 2018 .
I say it like I mean it: this brand hypnotized me. I was face to face with the jungle book snake and lost in its psychedelic eyes. She takes me this brand.
I looked at all the lookbooks which are what I like: small, unpretentious stories or simple moments of poetry, immersion in the beauty of the world wherever it is. Sorry but it's beautiful:

And then... and then... and then these clothes anyway!
So look at this:
And it's not over, I'm totally in love with the brand's silhouettes. So this follows directly from the products which all go in the same direction. That's it ! It’s the creative consistency that I also admire.
The products (cut, material, details, etc.) are all designed in this relaxed tailoring aesthetic which makes them easy to wear products. And this is felt in the silhouettes which are so simple but so elaborate at the same time. And the artistic direction sublimates this by translating simplicity through the decor, the colors, the treatment of the image, the story told.
NB: the prices are stratospheric. Well no, just below the stratosphere. They are therefore tropospheric more precisely.
4. CORRIDOR NYC
I bought a shirt from Bien Bien Habillés one day to try on. As soon as I opened the package I was won over.
The weaving is magnificent. It's a treat for the eyes. I get lost looking at this pattern and these shades of colors going from green to yellow, including blue.
And that's mainly why I love this brand, the play of texture, pattern and colors of its clothes. Whether over-shirt, t-shirt, jacket or pants.
5. BODE
Ooh there Bode. More Americans. Bode is something.
It is a luxury brand unlike any other. There, as before, it is the clothes that transport us, even without a particularly inventive AD. The products are sufficient in themselves.
I think the first Bode creation I saw was a jacket that was made from old American covers with an improbable but beautiful pattern on a jacket.
Not exactly this one but you get the idea.
It’s an immense job of sourcing materials and creativity. And then without forgetting the colossal work of the seamstresses who make these pieces which require a lot of time and skill.
Such creations, it is inevitable, are expensive. But that's not the point here.
Example of embroidery work, made in the United States.
Here are the first 5.
I guarantee you that the next 5 won't leave you hungry either. And maybe I'll add a few small brands as a bonus because there are quite a few people who do good work.
This deserves to be highlighted.
