Gurkha-style pants, chambray shirt, chinos: nuggets from the editorial team #54 – David

For this selection, I found two beautiful dress pants but not too much, as well as a pretty shirt in Japanese material and made in France.

It's quite possible that you don't know any of the three brands mentioned here, so I hope you enjoy these discoveries.

Dressy chinos - Benevento Pants

Benevento is a Polish brand that I recently discovered on Instagram and that I have never seen mentioned on a men's fashion blog or media.

It is more precisely a workshop brand: it is therefore a production workshop and which also has a range of products to its name.

I had the opportunity to tell you about my obsession with mid-rise, fairly straight-cut pants: here is an illustration.

In a taupe color that I particularly like, the cut is slightly carrot: generous on the thighs and slightly tightened at the ankle .

With two darts at the front of each leg, side tightening tabs and a well-defined pleat at the front, these pants are rather dressy... but not too much either , because they are made from a cotton twill of the English supplier Brisbane Moss .

The material is beautiful, the construction is very clean and the clips are very deep.

In the same spirit as what Scavini can do, a dressy chino is a good option to add character to your casual chic outfits:

We will notice that in spirit, with its casual fabric and its dressy details, these pants are in a way the cousin of the wool joggers , which on the contrary have a dressy material but details and a construction making them more casual.

Gurkha spirit pants - Grand Le Mar

A reader mentioned this brand that I didn't know at all.

Based on the information I found, Grand Le Mar is a young Swedish brand offering dressy clothing at a fairly affordable price. The spirit and aesthetic of the brand reminds me a lot of Suitsupply .

I would like to talk to you about this brand to introduce you to their double-pleated dress pants, called "gurkha" .

However, these are not real Gurkha pants. Indeed, a real Gurkha belt is equipped with two strips of fabric attached to the sides, one passing under the other. Like here with these Ring Jacket pants.

Here, the assembly works with a side tightening tab on the left, alone, and a large strip of fabric going towards the right which passes through a loop and is fixed with a button.

This belt assembly is rather clever and allows you to have a visual result close to the Gurkha , for a production probably a little less expensive.

These pants also have two pleats on each leg, and if you look at the measurements, you will see that the cut is slightly carrot and should fit the majority of you well.

In addition to the beige color shown here, these pants are available in white , navy and black .

Japanese chambray overshirt - Village Paris

It was Benoît who introduced me to the brand, mentioning the sweatshirts , made in Japan and less than €100.

We were able to meet Romain, the founder of the brand, who showed us his products and his approach.

And it was this shirt that caught my attention: Japanese chambray, French tailoring , two buttoned chest pockets which add character. And it's all very reasonably priced, especially with the current discount.

There are only the fisheye effect buttons which are made of plastic, but that's not a big deal.

This rather thick shirt will be perfect over a white t-shirt, with green cargo pants and a pair of boots, for example.
