Welcome to (Very) Well Dressed, the weekly video to look good!
Today we are going to talk about an important accessory: the belt. And we're especially going to talk about its style , and the visual elements that make it up!
Style and color of the buckle, width of the belt, small details that make it more elegant or on the contrary more raw... We decode everything to choose a belt with taste , and consistent with your style!
While we're at it, don't forget to check out the episode dedicated to the quality of leather , it's just as important as style. 😉
And if you want to know a little more about belts, their history and their choice, you can read our buying guide !
Also take a look at this article by David which reveals his renewed interest in the belt (an object he had neglected for a while), and a nice selection along the way.
1. WHAT DOES A BEAUTIFUL BELT LOOK LIKE TODAY?
To begin, let's take stock of what a design that "goes with everything" (or almost) and would please everyone (or almost) could look like.
In short, let's try to establish a consensus on the style of a beautiful belt model for everyday life!

2. BRAIDED BELTS
Another style of belt, which has gained popularity over the years. There was a time when we thought it was reserved for women.
Moreover, some men still have concerns about choosing braided models that are too “feminine”.
But rest assured: not only is this accessory not that gendered, but in cases where it is, there are easy to identify elements to distinguish a more "female" and more "male" design.

3. BIG, MORE RUSTIC BELTS
There was a time when it was the essential (or even obligatory) choice of any men's casual wardrobe!
Today, it has lost a little popularity with its wider shapes and more massive buckles, in particular because current fashions offer pants less compatible with these designs.
That doesn't mean that it no longer has any interest!
4. “BUSINESS” BELTS A LITTLE DATE
I couldn't not take the time to talk about these models which, 10 or 20 years ago, were seen as the masculine standard, and which today have clearly lost popularity.

... Do you see what kind of belts I'm talking about?
As much out of weariness of these designs which are both flashy and hyper sanitized (it seems contradictory though!), as because of brands which have ended up associating a negative image with them.
5. THE “WESTERN BELTS” AND “RANGER BELTS”
After more rational proposals, I will explain to you my favorite thing about these belts (and I cannot deny having been seduced by the trend that has been putting them forward for two or three years).

My Silver Ostrich belt, undoubtedly one of the “unreasonable” favorite purchases that I regret the least!
