Summary
For Your Eyes Only " by John Glen (1981)Change of era, style and setting. Our second sleeveless vest is to be found at a relative Bobine regular. We have already mentioned James Bond through the turtleneck , the shirt , the pajamas or his most iconic interpreter: Sean Connery. If the latter gave him his letters of nobility in cinema, the period 1973-1985 embodied by Roger Moore does not lack assets.

Carole Bouquet and Roger Moore, in "For Your Eyes Only", 1981.
Less lunar than "Moonraker" , "For Your Eyes Only" celebrates the return of our secret agent to less fanciful adventures, shared between travel , Carole Bouquet, action and sportswear: diving, skiing, ice hockey, climbing, everything is there and it is precisely through one of these many outdoor activities that you will discover Roger Moore's vision of style with a sleeveless vest .
At the foot of the mountains, searching for a transmitter that would command nothing less than the launch of British nuclear missiles, Roger Moore improvises as king of climbing, in an outfit at the crossroads: cosy, wintery, with a little touch of sportswear.
Look at the shoes for example: they are not beautiful. " Captives " by Atom Egoyan (2014)
Third stop on our journey: heading to Canada and its harsh winters, not without first taking a look at the charming singer . If "Saint Amour" does not particularly shine for its clothing choices, we will learn a little more about the casual wearing of the sleeveless vest thanks to the character of Benoît Poelvoorde: here it is navy blue and tired, associated with a pair of jeans and a navy and red striped T-shirt. It is disarmingly simple.
We could say that it lacks panache , that it's a bit redneck. It's a bit true and at the same time. If the style here is more to be found on the side of Vincent Lacoste, nothing prevents on the other hand from magnifying the outfit of Benoît Poelvoorde with beautiful materials. The important thing here is the idea.
For example, imagine at the top a sleeveless vest with more style and character, a t-shirt with texture and why not in cotton-linen. At the bottom: beautiful workwear shoes and a Japanese canvas. Wouldn't we be nice there? If not, let's put our last card on the table: it's the most surprising of the game.
5. The vest and white pants: Californian elegance
“ Greenberg ” by Noah Baumbach (2010)
And what if we stopped for a moment at the bottom of a movie outfit? Let's set down our suitcases in a cozy suburb of California, to meet the characters of "Greenberg", a film by Noah Baumbach that has gone relatively unnoticed in our region but is worth a look.

Ben Stiller and Jennifer Jason Leigh in "Greenberg," 2010.
Fresh out of the psychiatric hospital, Ben Stiller tries to recover from a severe depression, taking advantage of his brother's vacation to squat the house, recharge his batteries and get to know Greta Gerwig, the young woman who takes care of the dog Mahler and the day-to-day affairs of the house. It's nicely bittersweet, bathed in sunshine and interesting outfits. Ben Stiller reveals himself in another light, less openly comic, and it's a pleasant surprise.
Like the previous actors, he also wears a sleeveless vest: brown, almost essential, worn with a blue sweatshirt or a nice sweater of another brown. Below, a pair of boots, jeans, beige pants and even white pants, which he sometimes associates with a blue shirt and the brown layers already mentioned. He is both handsome and relaxed.
Blue, white, brown, you get the picture. Coming out of the tunnel, there are therefore some notes of hope for Ben Stiller: love of course, but also light, here illustrated even in his clothing choices. So, what if you tried the sleeveless vest too, just to see?
