Summary
Ametora (W. David Marx's book on Japanese style), on the shoulders of the WASPs and which could have been photographed in the photo book TAKE IVY (spoiler: it's not there). The best thing about this piece: it brings fun, character and fits very easily into my wardrobe . And no, I'm not a clown.
Unfortunately, despite extensive digging, the precious one doesn't belong to me yet . This type of piece is usually offered by hype brands - those that make you love (almost) everything just with their styling.
I'm also eyeing Drake's from their summer 2022 collection . I can easily imagine it with a vintage 501 , my jodoga and the Casoli to redo their look."
Yann, a jacket
"I am literally fascinated by the jackets. With its old-fashioned charm, its characteristic lapel and piping, it is a piece that takes me on a historical and geographical journey . Half-Corto Maltese, half-Popeye, we wear the jacket when we need to affirm our devotion, our bravery. Historically made from the scraps of boat sails , the jacket is, in my humble opinion, the most elegant piece from the military wardrobe .
Nourished by this collective imagination, I tirelessly searched for a new (and not found in surplus) AND original jacket . Some brands have risked reinterpretation, without much success.
And then… I saw this: a slightly cropped Kenzo jacket (which will force me to wear high-waisted pants) in impeccable white, with the piping and lapels I wanted. It's rare that a specific piece (especially from a brand with questionable CSR) has such an effect on me . That must be a sign. I would happily wear it with nice wool pants, a shirt or polo underneath, with a pair of suede derbies or discreet sneakers, without worrying too much. A piece like that is enough in itself! "
