The summer sneaker guide

Spring has arrived earlier than expected, and you are already anticipating sunny days. You may even be starting to wonder what to wear when the thermometer gets fidgety in the heart of summer. At the top it's easy: linen or chambray shirts, light t-shirts, with shorts or chinos rolled up at the ankles.
But where it gets slightly more complicated is when it comes to dressing your feet.
Of course, it's not yet August, but it's important to plan ahead. Because who has never found themselves having to urgently find light shoes while on vacation, only to end up with low-end sandals that are way too expensive?
So what to wear in style , while keeping your feet well supported , without transforming your extremities into chemical weapons ?
The canvas sneaker
Canvas sneakers are undoubtedly the best choice when it comes to being mobile over significant distances. It will therefore be perfect for city use, but your feet will still sweat a lot on hot days.
To choose your canvas sneakers, do the same as for sneakers and focus on the purest and simplest designs, sober colors (blue, gray, taupe, sand, cream). And the materials must obviously be sufficiently ventilated (natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, hemp).
As it's for summer, take them in fairly light tones , otherwise they risk contrasting too much with the rest of your outfits.
On the practical side, most shoes can be worn barefoot. But for more comfort, there are short socks , which are also almost invisible. I like to take sports socks (those with a padded heel and front) because they are more comfortable and regulate the temperature inside the shoe well. Of course, you will only wear these socks with canvas sneakers. It is strictly forbidden to combine them with dress shoes, classic sneakers or, crime among crimes, sandals (no, you are not a German tourist passing through the French Riviera).

I wanted to end this article by briefly talking about sandals. To my knowledge, it is almost impossible to find goods for less than €200, because it is an item that does not tolerate poor manufacturing.
