What is the connection between clothing and vacations? None, some will say. In fact, if there is a time when it is nice to be well dressed it is on vacation, with comfortable clothes that make you feel good. To enjoy the present moment as Benoît often says. Proof of this was provided during his trip to Mongolia by motorbike, recounted here .

Since our main topic is to give you clothing advice, it actually makes sense to give you ideas for really cool places to wear them. So that the pleasure is complete. This is the purpose of this new meeting.

And because a change of scenery is not a question of distance but of curiosity, we have teamed up with lifestyle journalist Laurence Gounel to offer a 100% “holiday in France” audio patch throughout the summer .

Like a last coffee at the counter before the big departures, with each week a guest from fashion, travel and the media, to share holiday memories and good addresses from the four corners of France .

A podcast with an evocative title - “Les Congés Paiés” -, as a nod to the year when everything changed: 1936, and the possibility of finally leaving to “see the country”... A podcast which aims to be a French postcard more than a travel guide, a pretext to share one of the most beautiful images in collective memory: the Great Holidays! Good listening. Christopher.

Here are the previous episodes:

Crowned Best Pastry Chef in the World in 2019 by Les Grandes Tables du monde , François Perret has made French tea and pastries at all the tables of the Ritz Paris a benchmark.

After the release of his book Sweet moments at the Ritz Paris and a Netflix series The Chef in a truck broadcast since June 11, his love rating is like mercury, at its highest. All the more reason to ask him to refresh our ideas with the cream of the addresses on the Atlantic side. Heading for his favorite destination: Cap Ferret.

1. A point of view

tip of cap ferret beach

The Pointe du Cap Ferret. As its name suggests, it is the last stop before the ocean. A completely preserved corner of nature, a piece of the world with the Arcachon basin, the Banc d'Arguin and the Dune du Pilat opposite.
More information on my-capferret.com.

2. A must-have

The bird island and the tchanquée cabins. More traditional than in a motor boat, we embark with the picnic aboard a pinnace typical of the basin and fully privatizable (10-11 people)... Take the opportunity to venture onto the Banc d'Arguin and its natural swimming pool, and sail among the oyster beds of Cap Ferret in Piquey.
€280 for 2 hours of walking or €480 for 4 hours.
Pinasse Freebay , 33970 Lège-Cap-Ferret. Such. : 06 79 78 86 05

3. A concept store

Jane from Boy . This is THE local Colette. An institution, a reference for locals and all of Bordeaux, for all fashion and lifestyle lovers in general, men included of course.
13 and 34 boulevard de la Plage 33 970 Cap Ferret. Such. : 05 56 03 32 15

4. An oyster cabin

The Mimbeau cabin. At the southern end of the Conche, a little further from the successful oyster huts, it faces the Grande Dune and offers the intimacy of these places that you would only want to keep to yourself.

A piece of the world on wooden tables grayed with sea spray, oysters, whelks and all the treasures - and only the treasures - of local fishing.
28 Avenue de la Conche, 33970 Lège-Cap-Ferret. Such. : 05 56 60 61 67

5. An institution

At Hortense's . Impossible to stay at “Ferret” without a dinner on its terrace, in its original style since 1938, facing the Pyla dune. In 40 years, Bernadette has seen generations of regulars grow and served all the Parisian hype, from Karl Lagerfeld to the whole gang of P'tits mouchoirs. “I know more than one person who would eat mussels in their shell for a table on the front line.” All is said.
26 avenue du Sémaphore 33 970 Lège-Cap Ferret. Such. : 05 56 60 62 56

6. Three HQs, three atmospheres

The Bar of 44 . THE meeting place in the 44 hectare district, that of the Bordelais, just behind Hortense's. Very relaxed, wooden cabin style and bare feet on the boards. Sitting at the high tables, we order the first round of tapas and cocktails and finally, we stay there the evening without having seen it pass.
44 avenue du Sémaphore 33 970 Lège-Cap-Ferret

Pierrette at the cannon . Some come there for the famous mojito, others to enjoy the family bar atmosphere, without artifice... In short, Pierrette is the locals' bar. With sharing plates, a mix of sofa-coffee tables on pallets and high tables in small village tavern style. A great classic.
6 allée des Cupressus 33 950 Lège-Cap-Ferret

The Sailfish . Unlike the other two, the Sailfish and its immaculate setting - polished like a chic pool - is the before of golden youth on the edge. Aesthetes and those for whom partying is a serious matter, the same ones who have lunch at the equally pretty café during the day. It's beautiful and it's a must before continuing to the Sun, the house's private club.
Rue des Bernaches 33970 Lège-Cap-Ferret. Such. : 05 56 60 44 84

7. Three places to stay

A cabin for four . All made of wood, a 60 m2 cabin inspired by fishermen's cabins, two bedrooms, an ideal location 300 m from the ocean... this hideaway hidden in the vegetation is Robinson's dream. One of the rare addresses that is both “charming” and affordable in the golden triangle. Good plan.
About €150 per night for 4 people.

The Pond House . On the edge of the lighthouse and the Fishermen's district, this old forester's house, all made of wood and with typical architecture, is one of the prettiest addresses in the area. In total, 11 rooms with exotic and weathered charm. Antique furniture, local cuisine and rums arranged at the bar, the change of scenery is complete.
From €155 for a double room.
5 rue des Pionniers 33 950 Lège Cap-Ferret. Such. : 05 56 60 60 03

The Pinecone Cabin . All in wood like Tom Sawyer's hideout, located on the peninsula, in the confidential district of Mimbeau, it is the best kept secret of regulars. Right between the famous 44 hectare district and the fishing village, it is the ideal spot to shine, neither seen nor known. Just one room and the luxury of being pampered by Nadia, in a return-from-expedition atmosphere. Hyper exclusive.
From €220 for a double room including breakfast.
3 rue de la Brise, 33 970 Lège-Cap-Ferret. Such. : 06 77 35 44 50
