Yuketen

Reebok Reading Yuketen Next Bonobo
Our opinion

Yuketen focuses its activity on the production of high-end moccasins, sneakers and workboots.

The work on the design of the shoes is remarkable with a host of interesting details: reinforcement pieces, sewn soles, hand-assembled leather...

With a very workwear approach, the brand will not however suit just anyone and any purchase requires a little reflection on the integration of the object of your desire into your wardrobe.

That being said, the label is a very good source for those looking for a pair of stylish and atypical shoes of excellent quality.

The history of the brand Yuketen

Founded in 1989 by Japanese designer Yuki Matsuda through his company MEG Company, Yuketen is one of those brands that have quickly established themselves in the workwear world both through the excellence of their collections and their obsession with quality .

Having grown up in Japan and living in the United States since 1985, Yuki Matsuda is passionate about vintage pieces and more particularly “Americana” moccasins.

After 4 years as an importer of “made in USA” products to the Asian world, he chose to create his own shoe brand by combining his Japanese inspirations with a workwear universe tinged with Native American influences .

He initially joined forces with the Beams brand to create his first models of boots distributed in Japan: leather models with a crepe sole with an atypical design.

In the 2000s the brand developed significantly alongside the big names in Japanese fashion: Visvim, Nanamica and Pure Blue Japan.

Recently, the brand has greatly improved its distribution in Europe and it can now be found in several large European multi-brands.
