Moonstar

Our opinion

Moonstar sneakers, entirely made in Japan, are of very good quality.

The sole, thick and dense, inspires confidence in its durability. This is a very good point because the soles of lightweight cotton sneakers are known to be fragile, quickly becoming damaged.

The cushioning of this sole is also quite good.

The cotton canvas used is beautiful in its color and grain, thicker than average.

In our region, you will find the Gym Court model, classic but effective, as well as the Mud Guard and Alweather models, characterized by a rubber insert on the upper of the shoe.

In addition to its practical aspect (this rubber resists mud and rain), this insert also has an aesthetic interest.

In conclusion : if you are often disappointed with the durability of mainstream cotton sneakers, or if you want to move upmarket with a model with a slightly more sophisticated and unique aesthetic, Moonstar is a good choice.

The history of the brand Moonstar

Moonstar is a brand and a manufacturing workshop (the Moonstar Factory, located in Kurume) of sneakers of Japanese origin, operating since 1873.

The factory has been producing sneakers under its own label (Moonstar) in its workshop since the 1960s as well as subcontracting for other brands, Doek, PRAS or Shoes Like Pottery for example.

The workshop is recognized for the quality of manufacturing and construction of sneaker soles, based on a rubber vulcanization process giving the sole, among other things, durability, flexibility and better protection against water (waterproofing).

Offer : sneakers only.

Distribution : the brand has a few distributors in Europe. In France more specifically, it is at Royal Cheese that you will find Moonstar products.
