Millet

Our opinion

Millet produces an astronomical amount of technical equipment, from backpacks to socks to Softshell jackets. Among all this very sporty paraphernalia, you can nevertheless easily find products that will adapt very well to a more classic or streetwear wardrobe.

Jackets are often simple, like down jackets and certain accessories which could prove very valuable when temperatures drop.

Producing highly qualitative technical parts , Millet is a safe bet for those looking for both high quality and foolproof technicality.

However, the brand remains very expensive due to its niche sector, and in the majority of cases a Uniqlo Heattech should be more than sufficient for urban use.

The history of the brand Millet

Settling in 1928 in Annecy, the Millet family initially produced hiking backpacks intended for adventurers challenging the first great peaks of the Alps: it was the time of pioneers, wild climbing and Frison-Roche ascents. .

Joining forces in the second half of the 20th century with the big names in mountaineering, Millet became known for the high quality of its accessories: they helped to dominate Annapurna in 1950, to cross the Grandes Jorasses in 1963 and to tame the Andes Mountains.

The 1990s marked a turning point for the brand: while it specialized in the processing of Goretex and technical materials, its acquisition by Lafuma in 1995 allowed it to develop rapidly internationally.

Now the second largest rope manufacturer in the world, Millet is one of the almost century-old brands that have based their approach to clothing on experience, innovation and perfectionism.
