Summary
HERE COMES THE SUN » - THE BEATLESWe no longer need to introduce the Beatles: four boys from Liverpool named John, Paul, George and Ringo, interplanetary hits and a handful of major pop albums that we may never really get around.
If by chance all this means absolutely nothing to you, you can start like me with the famous red and blue compilations or tackle the group's Everest right away: “ The White album ”.
Beyond music, the Beatles are also a social phenomenon and a form of collective hysteria rarely found since. What can we say, for example, about the style and haircuts adopted by young people from the beginning of Beatlemania?
A few years later, John Lennon himself would return to the style of the Beatles , indicating that they had not invented anything and that they had only had to go shopping in Paris to develop their outfits. You believe it, do you ?
Obviously, the suits and ties of the early 60s gradually gave way to more long hair, beards and fantasy , imbued with the group's various experiences and travels, particularly in India.
It is not improbable to think that their music is directly responsible for their changes in clothing, as well as the many social and musical upheavals of their time.

Paul McCartney plays guitar in 1967, in front of John Lennon in the sun.
We have always compared the styles of the two main composers of the Beatles: to John Lennon the most rock songs and the rebellious attitude, to Paul McCartney the sense of pop melodies and the figure of the ideal and romantic son-in-law.
I might as well admit it to you right away, I have always been part of the Lennon team. But things change over time. And truth be told, the more we are interested in the characters, the more we discover that questions of style and character deserve to be nuanced.
It was thus by taking a more serious interest in clothing that I rediscovered the musical work of Paul McCartney and his sense of style. For an overview, we can look at his outfits from the late 60s or early 70s. For example when the solo album “ Ram ” was released. Or simply let yourself be captivated by the shirt he wears here in the summer of 67.
In music, we can say that it is a fairly exceptional year: groups and artists galore, numerous masterpieces such as “ Forever Changes ” by Love or of course “ Sergeant Pepper ” by the Beatles. But the favorite here is to be found in a piece of fabric that captures a little more than a simple summer outfit.
In the photograph above, there is no question of fame and excitement. But rather an almost enchanted interlude, in the calm of a London garden. It's an image to make you dream. Perhaps you will draw inspiration from it for your own moments of relaxation.
Paul McCartney plays a little guitar. John Lennon snoozes quietly nearby. It's vague enough that we suddenly begin to imagine the life of a Beatle in summer, hidden from view.
If we look at McCartney's shirt a little closer: floral patterns, pastel pink tone, a material that we imagine fluid and light . It’s because the time is for psychedelia and the Summer Of Love, let’s remember.
You can also find shirts like this from others: Syd Barrett and his Pink Floyd for example, or in another register from the Small Faces. But Paul McCartney's has something a little magical about it. It seems timeless and imbued with a certain sweetness . We instinctively see ourselves well in it.
Unfortunately, we can only guess at the rest of the outfit: dressy and rather light pants perhaps, moccasins too , why not? This is an association already experienced here:

Of course, the dog is magnificent. But for our part, we especially note that he is wearing another printed shirt, moccasins and white socks . Paul McCartney is 25 years old. As the phrase usually attributed to John Lennon goes, the Beatles are now more popular than Jesus Christ.
In terms of style, anything is possible - even the sleeveless Fair Isle patterned sweater that you will often find on Paul McCartney's shoulders in those years. We analyze an example here:
But let's return to our English garden and its pastoral calm. In the background, John Lennon can be seen lying on a deck chair. He's wearing purple pants, the weather is nice, the scene is idyllic and you can certainly see yourself there too, with a cold drink nearby.
In another photograph, we see John Lennon's face more clearly. Small round glasses, printed shirt and white t-shirt . He's reading a magazine, and no it's not Etiquette. On the other hand, the mystery is becoming a little clearer.

So that’s what goes with the purple pants. The shirt is more lush and colorful than her writing partner's. But it also reminds us of a little thing about summer: it's the ideal season to dare with color .
If we often think of short sleeves this season, note that a beautiful long-sleeved shirt, in a light material and with colorful patterns can make a big impact. It will also protect your arms from the sun in the process.
In any case, you can roll up your sleeves at will in case of extreme heat. You can also slip a white t-shirt under the shirt, wear it open and casual, or buttoned and tucked into the pants for something a bit more formal:
Shirts in this spirit for summer, you will certainly find them in thrift stores, from brands like Abbie & Rose, Hartford or even from those mentioned here .
As for the song, it's all in the title, so to speak. It was composed at the beginning of 1969 by George Harrison, in the countryside, at the home of guitarist Eric Clapton. You can find it on the album “ Abbey Road ” released the same year and of which you certainly know at least the cover.
Certainly, it's more of a spring song. But since the return to life has been delayed due to Covid 19, we can start there, to celebrate the reunion with the sun and our locker room.
