Summary

easy to clean . If you want to know more about this sole, know that I have detailed its history at length Acronym , Tilak , Beyond Clothing ... The vast majority of these are high-end outdoor brands .
roman otaki down jacket

This is the thickest thickness of Climashield that we have used and it is also the thickest that Climashield offers! Precisely 237g/m² , which is very substantial, because we wanted a really good loft. And yes, you know that I love clothes against the cold that are cozy and comforting.

To give you an element of comparison, for a “4 seasons” insulating jacket like the famous Atom LT from Arc'Teryx, we rather use a thickness of between 70-80g/m2.

Multiple finishes to make your life easier

We designed this sleeveless down jacket as a practical piece :

  • the hood is removable thanks to a hidden pressure system,
  • the hood is also filled with Climashield , so it will protect you very effectively from the cold,
  • there is a drawstring at the bottom of the down jacket , to prevent air from entering from the bottom,
  • there is a double zip , to open the piece from the bottom when you are seated, or simply play on the style effect,
  • and there is an Italian viscose lining , which is usually found on dress coats, but I liked to divert this material for a sportier piece.

Several zipped pockets

It's a piece that has two exterior pockets, themselves containing two discreetly zipped pockets with our famous fleece lining them, to keep your hands nice and warm!

Inside, you also have two zipped pockets to secure your personal belongings!

So much for this very Swiss army knife piece, which adds extra warmth (and style) to many outfits . Don’t hesitate to wear it over your outerwear too!

Our overshirt in Japanese jacquard fabric

It’s hard to nod to “westernwear” without a stylish overshirt ! These are patterns inspired by Native American patterns , but imagined and reinterpreted by the Japanese .

Indeed, the Japanese love this aesthetic, so it is not surprising to find it in their fabrics.

Here, it is Maruwa who offers this visually strong pattern.

A 100% cotton “made in Japan” fabric by Maruwa

I wanted a very present hand, so it's a fabric that weighs 365 g/m², a perfect thickness for an overshirt. The fabric has a slightly fluffy feel, almost like flannel, which gives it warmth and great softness .

Good mouth
Good mouth

The fabric is created on jacquard looms, meaning the pattern is directly woven and not simply printed. This requires a very specific machine when you want complex patterns as is the case here.

It's a very pleasant overshirt to wear, which will visually place your outfits in another dimension .

Don't hesitate to wear your turtlenecks, your thin sweaters, your sweatshirts or even your t-shirts underneath, it's made for that!

ID card :

Weight: Intermediate (365 grams/meter²)

Our new Kuroki Japanese canvas jeans

After several years of service, our Ichigo jeans needed a little refresh on the fabric side. I mainly wanted a more durable canvas, and with a more bluish color, whereas the old Ichigo was sometimes more gray than indigo.

We decided to stay with the Japanese Kuroki because it is an essential supplier of denim .

Japanese tradition

Lovers of Japanese denim, you have already come across the name Kuroki . They supply a lot of denim purist brands.

Established in 1950, they have the particularity of having a factory dedicated to dyeing, another to weaving, and a last to finishing. They have enormous know-how in dyeing , because they know how to fine-tune the different parameters that influence the final color (oxidation of the indigo, cotton used, etc.).

Little by little, they are investing more and more in the environment, particularly in the treatment of dyeing water .

They're also starting to place photovoltaic panels — currently, 10% of the energy Kuroki consumes comes from the sun . Let's hope they continue this momentum! I invite you to explore the subject on the site, it’s something that seems to be close to their hearts.

For those more curious, the creators of the US workwear brand 3sixteen published a complete article on Heddels about their visit to the factory.

Oh, and for the record, their most recent loom was purchased in 1958! It is therefore a canvas which is right in the Japanese folklore of the old loom which works very slowly...

Good mouth

Surprisingly, although this is a more durable canvas in the tests carried out, it is not selvedge, but it is indeed a canvas woven in Japan, which also contains 20% organic cotton. Number wise, it’s a 13.1 oz canvas.

The canvas is ozone washed, which uses much less water than traditional washing .

Ozone wash?

We can say that our jeans are “ozone washed” ! As a reminder, ozone is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms, with powerful oxidizing power.

It is a much more ecological solution than traditional washing obtained with water, enzymes, chemicals and pumice stone. Its operation is rather simple to understand: the jeans are humidified then exposed to this gas, then rinsed.

The ozone is then converted back into regular oxygen before being released into the environment!

Good mouth

As for the cut, we stick with our usual semi-slim cut. If you want a wider fit, our Renji is there for that!

Our 100% merino wool blanket made in Italy

Since the release of our cashmere throw, you now know my guilty pleasure regarding very beautiful throws. I love this object, which mixes refinement and functionality , it literally makes any room more… warm .

But before I detail our new blanket, let's focus on the usefulness of this object...

But what is a blanket for?

That’s right, why bother having a large square of fabric in your living room or bedroom? Well, because it's an incredibly satisfying item .

Reading a book, drinking tea, watching a series (or even playing video games) in the soft warmth of a blanket, it's a gourmet pleasure, very relaxing and restful .

If we talk about style, I find that it gives a great character to an interior, for two reasons:

  • Owning a blanket is a declaration of love for a cozy interior.
  • Owning a blanket made from 0% synthetic and 100% natural material is always a declaration of love for a cozy interior, but it is also a declaration for an interior with style, and which pays homage to beautiful, soft materials. and luxurious. Just like your wardrobe.
Good mouth

Note that I have already seen some people use this blanket as a scarf , it requires a certain sense of style to manage such a volume, but the visual touch on an outfit is undeniable , almost spectacular .

100% merino wool that carries its weight

This is perhaps one of the very rare materials where I asked several times for confirmation of the composition, because this blanket was too soft to be 100% wool in my eyes (or rather my hand).

“Are you sure there isn’t a little cashmere in this blanket?”

And each time, the answer was the same: “ Benoit, since we told you that it’s 100% merino wool!

Good mouth

This blanket is very soft, and this comes from the know-how of our Italian manufacturer, specialized in scarves and blankets , well versed in creating fabrics that will be in contact with the skin...

The advantage of this blanket is the “velvet” finish: the fabric is brushed between two rollers fitted with tiny mechanical points which will lift the wool fiber and give this very soft appearance to the knitting.

This finish also gives it a softer and denser appearance, it's a real cocoon of warmth!

A pattern on the borders of two universes

Regarding the indigo color of this throw, we wanted to give a nod to our love of denim . The white shapes are halfway between sashiko patterns and Native American patterns , specially developed for us, which we deliberately enlarged to have a geometric side which becomes more abstract at these dimensions .

ID card :

Dimensions: 150 cm x 180 cm, so these are rather generous dimensions on a throw (for comparison, our cashmere throw was 130 cm x 170 cm).

Composition and origin: 100% merino wool. The wool comes from Australia . It is spun and dyed in Italy , and it is BIG , a company specializing in the field of scarves.

Price: €200. In terms of quality, if you want an equivalent from a more classic brand, you would have to pay at least €300. This will not be the case here.

Availability of the piece: available in store from February 10 in store and on the e-shop.

Where to find this new capsule?
