After being a sales consultant, store manager, visual merchandiser, stylist and even a model, he is now an image director . As part of our new "A day with" format, we followed Antoine, a member of the BonneGueule team since October 2015. Meeting place? Paris.
A portrait also to be discovered below on our Youtube channel:
His occupations
It's been eight years since Antoine embarked on the BonneGueule adventure and since then, none of his (well-paced) days are the same as the last . "I can take care of the window displays to be set up for a launch, or go to our boutique on rue Commines to see with the teams on site what to highlight or not ," he explains. "For a few months now, I've been working more and more on styling and photoshoots. And recently, I started directing the image for the brand - that happened quite naturally , and it includes visual merch, photoshoots, styling..."
His daily routine
In Paris, Antoine did what many locals do: he started running. "I'm doing longer and longer distances," he says. " It's become part of my daily routine . It helps me think about something else and even structure my day , especially since I became a dad: in the morning, I have obligations. I take my daughter to daycare quite early, around 8:30, so I've gotten used to running before I get to the office ."
His passions
"I have an unspeakable passion: football jerseys . And I'm a big PSG supporter - which isn't necessarily easy to admit in a community," admits Antoine.
The latter also played football for about fifteen years - "but you know about cruciate ligaments", he says. A period during which he participated in a league called "Le Ballon", set up by one of his friends . "We took part in tournaments - we even went as far as Japan".
Beyond sport and competition, our image director particularly appreciates "the aesthetics all around" . "It comes back to everything I do today: the image of football, the supporters, the jerseys, the design... it's really something that touches me".
Another passion of Antoine? Japan, where he went thanks to the Ballon and where he met "great people". "I love Japanese food, culture and fashion of course. And I'm a big fan of fashion magazines and books, especially Japanese fashion. I really like Popeye, Grind magazine, things like that... and also books that do retrospectives of Japanese brands."
His good addresses in Paris
In Paris, Antoine has his little addresses that remind him of Japan . Among them, the Pontochoux restaurant (located in the street of the same name, in the 3rd arrondissement), where you can taste a delicious Japanese curry.
At Pontochoux, in Paris
A stone's throw away, at number 20 on the same street, is the Gaijin Paris boutique. Antoine hunts for second-hand and vintage pieces from Japanese brands.
His favorite pieces
And if he had to keep only one piece of his wardrobe, Antoine would save this shirt from the Japanese brand Comme des Garçons . A vintage piece that he bought at Gaijin Paris. "It's a bit unusual, with lots of buttons."
As for her favorite BonneGueule piece, it is of course the Leonor chinos, co-designed with her colleague Giovanni. "It is a piece made from Japanese canvas, with a lot of high-end details . And symbolically, we gave it my daughter's name."
