The Numana polo shirt
Our range of polo shirts is renewed! And we start with the Numana polo shirt.
Released about ten days ago as I write these lines, you gave it a warm welcome and we thank you for that.
You appreciate its honey color , a sort of orange camel. This luminous and shimmering shade is reminiscent of the sun's rays and appears as a call for sunny days to settle in once and for all.
You also noticed the texture that adorns the front of the polo shirt: a zigzag, herringbone knit. Obtained by offsetting the knitting stitch in each row, this subtle relief pattern subtly stands out in your outfits.
This kind of is beneficial for your style because as we wear fewer layers of clothing during the summer, we can therefore rely less on the sandwich technique, otherwise called layering. We must therefore choose each of our clothes so that it is remarkable.
A wavy texture, like waves crashing on seaside rocks
To create contrast, we chose two other knitting stitches for the other parts of the polo shirt:
- A jersey on the sleeves and back : soft, comfortable and breathable, this stitch structures the polo shirt and allows it to fall well on your shoulders.
- A Milano at the collar . The particularity of this point is that it is quite dense, which allows the collar to hold well and not curl. By touching the collar and the sleeves at the same time, you can feel that the first is more compact
Let's talk a little more about the collar, which exudes a fairly quiet elegance . The absence of buttoning allows for a very refined throat and the open collar, whose points are oriented towards the collarbone, is reminiscent of the cutaway collars found on certain shirts.
A summery and elegant collar
Do you think this polo shirt looks comfortable? You are right. Knitted in a very soft cotton knit, it is naturally stretchy and you will forget about it once you put it on.
Style-wise, this honey polo shirt would be perfectly complemented with blue and green. For example, light jeans or dry wool pants , a military-style khaki jacket or olive chinos. Its color would also stand out very well with light colors : for example a beige suit or white pants .
I also like to wear this type of piece with a blazer, placing the polo collar over the lapel of the blazer, for a retro look that I find quite charming.

The Auteuil polo shirt
The idea here was to offer you a daring alternative to the traditional cotton pique polo shirt .
We have kept the iconic shape of the polo shirt, with its buttoned tab, its collar whose points we have slightly widened for more presence and its ribbed edges on the sleeves to prevent your arms from floating.
A well-proportioned collar and sleeves that don't curl.
And we came to bring singularity first of all by choosing a warm lavender color that is pleasant to the eye which opens up new stylistic horizons. We are introducing shades of purple this season, with this polo shirt and our (very pretty) Bréhat shirt .
Are you wondering how to effectively integrate purple (and therefore lavender in particular) into your outfits? Michel gives you all the secrets about this color in this article .
What you can remember:
- Purple is right between cold colors and warm colors . It will therefore go just as well with shades of blue and green as with brown and red. And you can use this lavender to bridge cool and warm colors.
- The soft shades of purple like lavender of this polo shirt are easy to wear , more so than the more bold and flashy shades. It's the same idea with the old pink color of our Cuba t-shirt for example, easier to understand than a candy pink or fuchsia.
- We advise you to have fun and test outfits with this polo shirt in a slightly new color! You might have some nice surprises :)
The polo shirt is combined here with gray and beige. Harmony is found in colors that are of similar lightness: purple, gray and beige are of medium intensity, there is neither very light nor very dark. Alserio jacket
The uniqueness of the Auteuil polo shirt is then found in this summer material that we appreciate and which is not seen so often: the sponge , recognizable by its small soft curls on its surface which give it the appearance of a towel.
An ocean of curls dot the surface of this polo shirt
This 100% cotton terry jersey is soft to the touch, very comfortable (thanks to its naturally stretchy knit) and it effectively absorbs moisture , thanks precisely to the presence of the loops on the surface. Practical when you get out of the water or in case of heatstroke in the city.

The Iseo sweater and the Como cardigan
With the return of sunny days, it can be tempting to go out with only one layer of clothing on top. But that would be a bit hasty, wouldn't it?
Between the harshness of winter and the crushing heat of summer, there are all these moments when it's not so hot, between 15 and 25°. There are also those hot days followed by cooler evenings during which you may still be outside enjoying a friendly moment with your loved ones or an outdoor festival.
Our two new knits have been designed for all those moments of life in intermediate temperatures.
Iseo is a charming round neck sweater, to wear with a t-shirt, a shirt or next to the skin. Como is a cardigan that you can close or open as you wish to adjust your style or adapt to the surrounding temperature.
To cover you just what you need, we chose to knit these two pieces in a beautiful Italian yarn 62% cotton and 38% hemp .
Where cotton provides stability and strength to the knit, hemp provides a good dose of freshness.
A beautiful mottled knit with a warm and rounded jersey stitch
Don't know what hemp is? Michel (still him, definitely), has written a complete guide on this subject here.
In summary, it is a natural fiber from a plant, Cannabis Sativa, with properties similar to linen. Indeed, hemp is breathable, resistant, anti-bacterial and it dries quickly.
An advantage of hemp compared to linen is that it creases little . Having handled them well, our two new stitches do not crease at all.

Then, we can ask ourselves , do these meshes itch? I'm wearing the Iseo sweater next to my skin as I write this and no, it doesn't really itch. There is still 62% cotton in the composition, which provides just the right amount of softness.
In terms of color, we chose a bright and summery shade: a storm blue , which leans towards ocean blue. It’s a color that Benoît appreciates and which reminds him of the Basque coasts where he (partly) comes from.

If you get closer, you will see that the color is not solid but mottled. These are in fact two threads of different colors, one blue and one white, which are intertwined in the knitting and which give depth and visual richness to the knit.
We can clearly see here that small touches of white are sprinkled here and there in the knitting
We end up with a luminous shade but of intermediate intensity , which has the advantage of going well with light colors (like light gray, white, ecru or beige) as well as darker ones (like navy). , khaki, burgundy, brown).
Left: white Renji jeans. Right: white Oregon t-shirt and indigo Renji jeans.
As usual, these two meshes are assembled using a “fully-fashioned” construction. That is to say that all the parts that make up this sweater and cardigan are knitted directly into the correct shape and then stitched together. Thus, no seams or scissors are used.
