Right now, I want to make a big impact in my locker room.
I want something new. I feel like I've been out of my comfort zone and now I want to get out of it by going head first through the wall.
I am directing my research towards unusual pieces and I promised myself not to be afraid.
Are yours ready?
Skipper jacket - Andersen-Andersen
I know, he's beautiful. Take your time to admire it. I'm waiting for you.
It's good ?
Let's start with what jumps out at you first: the color.
Have you ever met her elsewhere? Me neither. But I know where she comes from
This mint green is inspired by the corridor of a building in Copenhagen. The work of an architect for a family that succeeded in the painting and stationery sector.
How did that green get there? I don't know. I just said I knew where from. But the brand is also headquartered in the Danish capital. Coincidence? I do not believe.
In any case, I find this green superb and above all unpredictable.
Andersen-Anderson developed it exclusively for the Cultizm e-shop. As part of a collaboration no doubt.
Anderson-Anderson is a very high-end knitwear brand. We understand this by looking at the 399 euros he is asking for but also by seeing this:
The neatness of the knitting stitch and the binding of the ribbing are very good clues. Everything is perfect.
When I see it worn, the fluidity with which it falls does something to me.
We can add Italian manufacturing and horn buttons. But what best justifies the price, for me, is the design. Let's talk about it.
The collar, the line of buttons, the outline of the pockets... everything is well proportioned and every detail is well chosen. I haven't come across many cardigans like this.
The name skipper jacket makes us understand that it is inspired by mesh worn by fishermen. They must have had some great style.
For information, it is gauge 7.
One negative point: I don't see any information on the origin of the fibers and I find that a shame for the price.
But hey, I still have stars in my eyes.
Velvet sneakers - SWC
You read correctly.
If you don't believe me, watch:
Needless to say, they are unusual.
However, I can tell you why I find them successful.
Previously, if someone told me "velvet sneakers" I would have thought "fatal error" (for your information, Jordan had recently selected some in its nuggets , much more colorful). I didn't see how a pair in this material could be aesthetically acceptable. Now I see.
Already, there are the colors. The material already stands out. There is therefore no point in overdoing it and SWC has understood this well for this pair.
The three shades of beige are harmonious. The sole and laces fit together well. Thick corduroy looks very good in this color. Besides, it's a color that we expect to see in this material. This is probably also why the pair doesn't scare me that much.
Then there is the form. They are reminiscent of canvas tennis shoes such as the legendary Converses. It is a reassuring and easy to wear shape.
I find it well done. It is slender and I like the discreet yoke that adorns the front.
We might wonder what to wear them with but I already have my own idea.
I can see them with wide white pants, a light gray hoodie and a camel coat for example.
For their successful design, they are accessible and that's good.
This pair may be unexpected, but there is one point that remains predictable for its price range of less than 100 euros: we don't know where it was made.
Edit: they are made in Asia
In the comments, Médéric tells us that he recently questioned the brand: these sneakers are made in Asia. Thank you Médéric.
MacaTunes specifies that it is in Vietnam. Thanks MacaTunes.
If you too have information to share with everyone, don't hesitate. It happens below the article and it is always useful to the community.
Sleeveless fleece vest - Stan Ray
For this one, the Michel of the future will perhaps blame me. But life is happening now.
I want to experiment with fleece. I want to do it on a sleeveless vest because I find it more unique.
And since there are no sleeves, I will be less subject to excess heat due to the synthetic composition.
This one has a distinct style and I love it for that. The two patch pockets and the zipped pocket at the top have something to do with it.
I like the fact that the details are not left to chance. The color of the zipper blends in well overall. At the same time, it marks its presence because it is slightly darker. The YKK zip is gold. That’s not by chance either.
It also fulfills a non-negotiable condition for me: the double zip without which it would not appear here. I prefer to close my vest in the middle, that's how it is.
The logo is unnecessary but anchors well in the spirit of the piece.
To wear it well, I simply think of the workwear and streetwear worlds to which it lends itself well: hoodie, cargo, checked flannel overshirt, brown boots, white running shoes...
Given that there is work on the design, the price of 119 euros is rather correct.
Once again, I must point out the absence of a place of manufacture. Personally, I am still finishing my studies and my budget means that this is not an obstacle for me.
