Here is a model that you asked us for, it is time to present our latest coat with a straight cut and raglan shoulders.
Perfectly timeless or deliciously vintage, everyone has their own interpretation of this type of piece!
What I wanted was:
- a coat with a comfortable cut, to easily wear large pieces underneath
- a soft, fluffy and above all very beautiful material
- a fluid drape, to be pleasant every day, whatever your outfit
That's my specifications! Let’s start with the most important…
A sumptuous wool and cashmere sheet
Concerning the fabric, its arrival on this coat was not planned…
Indeed, let's go back in time, when designing our women's coat . I wanted to make a big impact with a fabric with a luxurious drape, very soft and with a very pleasant “softness”.
So we found this Italian fabric, in wool and cashmere, and it is honestly one of the most beautiful outerwear fabrics we have worked with. So much so that we have been asked for it for men's outerwear, and not just a little!
And it’s true that this fabric ticked all the boxes to usher in our new form of coat: soft, luxurious, with a beautiful drape.
Compared to the Jules Tournier fabrics of our other coats, here is the difference:
- Jules Tournier fabrics have a very structured hand, with a certain hold, and an "all weather" feel,
- the hand of this fabric, Italian at heart, has more "roundness", with a great softness to the touch, and a much more marked softness
But where does this fabric come from and what is its particularity?
A wool and cashmere sheet from Italian Texco
Ah, how I love this Italian draper!
He's the one behind the 100% yak fabric of one of our most popular coats, for example.
It is a partner who only works with luxury brands, so he is used to weaving very beautiful wool sheets with very high quality raw materials. Everything is spun, woven, dyed and finished in Italy, around the town of Prato.
By wearing this coat, you will be able to experience a beautiful example of Italian know-how in terms of softness, flexibility, color and durability.
Here is the composition of this coat:
- 90% wool
- 10% recycled cashmere, GRS certified
In terms of thickness, we are around 580 grams per linear meter, which corresponds to a “real” fabric for autumn and winter. To give you an idea, this corresponds to the thickest layers we use for our other winter coats.
Thanks to Texco's mastery, the fabric remains very supple and fluid, with a real high-end feeling.
A new cut in our coats
We wanted to explore a slightly looser cut than our usual coats, so it's a straighter coat.
The point of this cut?
It is multiple:
- adapt to many body shapes,
- give a relaxed style, which contrasts nicely with the high-end wool and cashmere cloth,
- be able to comfortably wear a large sweater or other thick clothing underneath.
The finishes of this coat
Raglan shoulders
The most visible are these raglan shoulders, with a shape that wraps well around the shoulder, and a more relaxed fit than a classic shoulder.
Soft pockets...
The pockets are also lined with fleece fabric, a very popular finish on our other coats, allowing your hands to be warm in winter.
