For these three little ones, even if they are in very different worlds, it is the know-how that is in the spotlight: Japanese materials and manufacturing, shoe shape refined again and again, or expertise in the distribution of loads. a backpack…
Sweatshirts and t-shirts - Village Paris
I've been wanting to get a sweatshirt from Village Paris for a while. So I went to the store at 39 rue Boursault to meet Romain, its founder.
When I saw the promotion on colorful, mottled and printed sweatshirts, totally made in Japan, I didn't hesitate much, and I got the green color .
With faded jeans, a pair of slightly worn sneakers, it will be perfect!
Then I saw the heather gray hoodie , which is a bit of an essential piece when you like Japanese brands, and I really liked its fit, its color and the double zip. Here too, the tailoring made in Japan is impeccable.
A very comfortable and cozy piece, perfect for me who didn't have many hoodies. To find out how to wear a hoodie, don't hesitate to read this article .
And finally, since I really wanted to support the brand, I picked up a pack of white t-shirts , both for €58 made in Portugal.
Last thing: Romain is a big vintage enthusiast, always happy to share his knowledge about a version of an M65 or an M51, and from time to time he hunts down a few pieces for his shop.
Lupine moccasins - Aubercy
As it happens, Romain de Village is also a big fan of moccasins, and on the way home, I asked myself which moccasins I liked.
It's not the type of shoe I wear, but if I had to buy just one pair, it would be a pair of Lupine from Aubercy.
Why this name "Lupin"? Because two holes for the eyes are drawn on the leather strip, reminiscent of the mask of the famous burglar.
As usual at Aubercy, the shape is impeccable - slender just right - and Hugo Jacomet will not hesitate to designate it as one of the most beautiful moccasins .
For my part, I really like the blue suede version, but the possibilities of colors, customization, and leather are, as usual with Aubercy, extremely vast.
Wear with your favorite jeans and an Oxford shirt or your favorite summer suit.
Please note: as the brand does not have an e-shop, Lupine is only visible at the Aubercy boutique on rue Vivienne, in Paris
2 Day Assault Backpack - Mystery Ranch
Yes, I know that switching from Aubercy to a tactical backpack is tough, but in life you have to be open-minded.
Finally ! In a Let's Talk Clothing episode, I mentioned my interest in this American backpack brand, whose only store in the world is located in Tokyo.
One of their emblematic models is the 3 Day Assault , 33 liters, but since I wanted smaller, I ordered the 27 liters: the 2 Day Assault.
I was able to happily taste the three zip system which made the brand famous, and which is indeed very practical. It's a very charming bag, and I understand why Mystery Ranch is regularly praised on Carryology .
The comfort is really appreciable (it changes from the "raw" side of a Goruck), in particular thanks to an adjustment system according to the height of the torso , which allows you to have a fit to the centimeter.
In terms of use, it is clear that in everyday life, it is sometimes a little large, but I realized how nice it was to have a 27 liter to do errands on the way home, or would it not be what to carry a shoe box, or a mid layer…
It's a change from the 18 liters of my Triple Aught Design Axiom, a perfect bag for very everyday use, but with which you can quickly find yourself cramped.
In short, a bag that you get attached to quickly, very well constructed, very practical with the 3 zips, and my god this comfort.
Note: they have an “urban” range with fewer MOLLE loops for a cleaner look.
