What ! Were we lied to?
We all know the famous private sales sites such as vente-privee.com, as well as factory stores where it is possible to obtain reductions sometimes up to -70 or even -80%! So you may have already asked yourself “ But how do they make a profit with a 70% off item? ". Decryption of an almost perfect magic trick...
The miracle of private sales
The big brands (Diesel, Ralph Lauren, Boss, etc.) claim that these products are unsold, and that is why they are sold at such a low price. But if you've ever been to a factory store, you've seen this mass of items: these tops available in all models and in all sizes... then a question arises: how can they have SO MUCH unsold items ?
It's quite simple, although invisible to the public. Many "big brands" offer "low-quality" versions of their original products... presented as unsold (poor quality fabric, absence of details, manufacturing defects). This is also true in the case of sales: the mass market (Zara, H&M, C&A) sells incredible quantities of low-cost clothing, specially made for the occasion... presenting them as leftovers from the season last. Be careful: the waiter may spit in the dishes...
Of course, this does not concern the entire offer. But always remain vigilant and don't rely too much on the brand, telling yourself " it's 70% off, it's definitely a good deal ". Always examine the item of clothing you are going to purchase regardless of the offer: it is NOT optional . This will often save you from coming home and realizing that there was a small hole in the t-shirt (for example).
Brand villages too often look like this:
“promoooo, promoo-euuhhh-oooo”
Another option is to focus on small brands , which do not engage in this type of practice (especially when you see that a Ly Adams suit on sale and an Armani in the "brand villages" have the same price.. .).
More information in this report (admittedly a bit alarmist...):
