The 4 things I will no longer recommend – Let’s Talk About Clothes #26

Les 4 choses que je ne conseillerai plus – Parlons Vêtements #26

“It’s only the c***s who don’t change their minds!” »

This could be the introduction to this video.

In ten years of discussions and explanations about clothing, I have covered a lot of things! But on certain points, I had time to change my mind, for various reasons: animal welfare, economic issues, or even quality/price ratio.

I'll explain everything to you in this 26th episode of Let's Talk Clothes!

Update: “GC” gave us a super interesting comment with other brand recos…

“Hi Benoît,

For Lanvin sneakers, I find it a shame. It's still too expensive for what it is, even if they went down to 350€ instead of the usual 500.

Overall, I recommend the Meccariello sneakers (for €250 it's really incredible). Stefano Bemer who has end-of-series sales on a few models, some of which are in antelope leather (ecological because they are overpopulated in South Africa), just like Mario Bemer who offers fish scale details (very succeeded in my opinion).

The best value for money is perhaps Crown Northampton, which has a sublime wholecut, made in England and leather sourced in England too, for around 250, which is also made to order (!).

For small budgets there is the small French Juch box which is on clearance (€60 per pair).

I recognize Lanvin's pioneering role in this area, but it is clear that a small company like Meccariello, where the master can have an eye on the entire production, by definition offers infinitely superior quality. »
