  • A SEE EMILY PLAY »: PINK FLOYD, SYD BARRETT AND THE EXPLOSION OF PSYCHEDELIC

One of the best-selling records of the 70s is none other than Pink Floyd's " Dark Side Of The Moon ". But before becoming one of the flagships of soaring and progressive rock, Pink Floyd was one of the stars of the London psychedelic underground scene. In 1966-1967, the group was led by Syd Barrett, one of the greatest cursed geniuses of the rock style .

  • Burned out by drug use, he would gradually be pushed towards the release of Pink Floyd in 1968. He literally imploded at the same time as psychedelia exploded around the world. Many people would not come out of the 60s unscathed. In the meantime, " Piper at the Gates of Dawn ", the group's first album, is a classic of the genre.

Besides, the clothing style printed by Pink Floyd is in the image of swinging London: colorful, populated with patterns, ruffled shirts and scarves . Difficult to wear on a daily basis, you think? Obviously, the Pink Floyd outfits of those years are relatively marked. But that is also what makes them charming.

The group doesn't only dress in strong colours, improbable materials and patterns. We can draw inspiration here and there, for a more contemporary approach. The patterned vest , for example, often used. The shirts and scarves of course, in a more current version. Colour combinations. And everything that is not necessarily psychedelic but which contributes just as much to Syd Barrett's style. You can see a glimpse of it in some photos circulating on the web: the pea coat, the velvet blazer, the henley or the striped tops .
