For this launch, we have designed an urban capsule focused on comfort and movement:
- On Monday, I presented you a (very) light parka against the rain, stretchy, comfortable and with graphene inside,
- Yesterday, Michel presented you with a (very very) light jacket and slightly stretchy pants ,
- Today, Michel continues with our famous merino wool t-shirt , available in white,
- and I conclude tomorrow, Thursday, with our very first running sneakers!
I'm passing the torch to Michel for our merino t-shirt!

I'm hyped.
Forgive my language, but since last November, I have made it my mind to only wear merino t-shirts. I wear them under my shirts, cardigans, turtlenecks, etc... I even have one to sleep in.
So I was waiting for this white short-sleeved version as much as most of you.
For those who weren't expecting it and who don't really know what we're talking about, I'll first offer you a little catch-up session on our Reda Active merino t-shirts.
Just wear it
The instructions are simple. This T-shirt can be put on in 4 seconds flat in the morning without worrying about cleaning or ironing it.
Why? Because merino wool:
- does not retain bad odors,
- is not very creasable.
Personally, I do a lot less washing with my merino t-shirts. Since most of my other clothes are wool too, I often skip this box. .
And that's not all:
- Wool releases or insulates heat to ensure your thermal comfort, in winter as in summer
- It absorbs up to 35% of its weight in moisture and keeps you dry all day long
I cycle a lot and I assure you that after a long climb, I feel the difference with a cotton t-shirt.
Last winter, I really appreciated this thermal regulation under my sweaters. It's hard to explain: you feel like you're "wrapped" by an extra layer of warmth and at the same time, you're not too hot when you're at home or on public transport.
I was able to try one in the summer too and it is very practical to keep the gap between 25 degrees during the day and 17 degrees in the evening. And I won't even mention the current mid-season which is playing yo-yo with the thermometer .
Merino is good. Reda Active is better
Reda, one of the last great Italian spinners and weavers, went even further.
How? Take the best of the best of woolworking for several decades, sprinkle with a few innovations in spinning technique and you get Reda Active merino:
- A softer yarn with better elasticity. Very comfortable to wear
- Better resistance to wear and maintenance. Because yes, sometimes you will have to wash it
- A very beautiful jersey with a precious drape. It takes the light very well
This last point is undoubtedly its biggest difference with a classic merino.
Nowadays, it is often impossible to accurately trace the origin of the fibers in a garment.
By integrating its entire production chain, Reda has made the traceability of its wool possible and it is important to emphasize this.
The spinner has three farms in New Zealand. ZQ certified, they meet standards on fiber quality, animal welfare, environmental impact and social responsibility.
And if that's the question that comes to mind: yes, it is mulesing free.
To ensure that every wool fibre in our t-shirts comes from these ethical farms, Reda controls everything at every stage of production. And that’s no small feat.

Getting a white merino jersey is not easy
I remember a rack loaded with white shirts in Reda's lab in Italy.
It was two years ago, when I visited them to discover their manufacturing secret.
These shirts were tests. Tests to obtain a white merino wool material that would live up to their requirements.
You should know that it is not that simple. Wool, even when washed, is far from being optically white. Dyeing it navy blue is easy, but making it whiter than it is at the base is complicated. At least, if you want to get a result as beautiful as the other Reda Active jerseys.
But hey, progress can't be stopped. By dint of trying, they finally got there .
Last October, we were able to offer you a first white version with long sleeves. Winter was approaching, so it was necessary to cover your arms.
I got myself two that replaced my white cotton t-shirts for all my layering. Because yes, a white t-shirt is a very good base for successful layering, but you already know that.
In December, one day, I passed by the office. I saw a prototype of a white short-sleeved T-shirt hanging on the rack intended for our March collection. I approached and recognized this jersey characteristic of Reda. The same one I was wearing on me, by the way.
Finally! Just in time for spring and summer.
This Saturday, I will ask you only one thing: leave me two, please 😉
