It's extremely rare that I do an article specifically dedicated to a boutique, but the selection of Julien, who manages the Jinji boutique (at 22 rue des canettes in Paris, right next to the ndc boutique) is so particular and passionate, that I had to show it to you.
Indeed, it is a rather unique choice of brands for Paris, which clearly illustrates the real added value of a good selection in a good multi-brand store , since we discover there a number of gems that I thought would not be found in France. .
Whether for shirts, jeans, large pieces, the selection is very relevant and coherent, between a mix of cutting-edge Japanese brands and US brands with a very strong imagination, not to mention a few carefully chosen military pieces .
Really, look at the brands page of the eshop, it's full of great labels. You will also notice that Julien has a certain taste for creating pretty displays, with credible outfits full of ideas.
In this video, you will discover:
- a large Filson piece,
- the very particular texture work of Brown's beach and the rather funny history of the brand (a brand which dressed milkmen!),
- North Sea Clothing submariner sweaters,
- the incredible Inverallan cardigans,
- the excellent Japanese brand Orslow (I'm not exaggerating, I loved the pieces presented),
- a military piece that made Vietnam to wear with rolled up chinos,
- the pretty Jinji scarves in indigo,
- the Coldtech brand which comes straight from the clothes of the butchers of the Meatpacking district of New York,
- the legendary Momotaro jeans,
- and many others ! You will see that Julien is very passionate about his choice of clothes 😉
Note: we apologize for the light, which is a bit dark!
The small selection of BonneGueule at Jinji
Orslow cargo pants : the color and cut are great.
A jungle jacket from 1967 : usually, I'm not particularly a fan of vintage military, but I really appreciated the lightness of the poplin and this design which hasn't aged a bit.
A statement Inverallan cardigan: it's a hand-knitted piece that will last a lifetime.
New Balance made in the USA (the difference is important! Julien explains it well in the video): because it goes with everything. Alexandre had also written a detailed article on New Balance .
Lighting Bolt jogging pants : I have them, and believe me, they're the ultimate chill-out piece! The softness and comfort are exceptional. The history of the brand is worth the detour, it was created for surfers who come out of the water and who need warm and comfortable pieces.
Bonus for those who read this article to the end: our colleagues from For The Discerning Few also wrote an article on the store , as did our friends from Redingote , who also wrote a post on this atypical selection .
The store also has a very active Facebook page (Jinji, 22 rue des Canettes in the 6th arrondissement in Paris).
