To avoid missteps, check the following:
1
The seams end on the shoulder.
2
Its cut: halfway between the fitted cut and the straight cut.
3
For the length: a few cm below the belt is enough. Be careful, some jackets with ribbed edges rise above the buttocks when walking!
WHAT EXACTLY IS A JACKET?
Generally, the body of the garment is loose and is tightened at the waist by tightening systems to form, by extension, a blousant effect. This effect can be reproduced on the ends of the sleeves.
Developed for aviators (warm and ergonomic), it will be taken up by civilians (like other military pieces) after the Second World War.
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF JACKETS
The following models are the most emblematic:
THE PERFECT
Usually in black leather, it is a double-breasted jacket with a zipper. It is distinguished by its notched collar with snap buttons, its shoulder tabs and its belt.
THE BOMBARDIER
Originally an integral part of the US Air Force uniform, it is distinguished by the use of a shearling whose fur goes up to the turned-down collar. It has two slash pockets, a belt and a zipper.
THE BOMBER
Also developed by the US Air Force (under the name MA-1), it is distinguished by its nylon fabric and brightly colored contrasting lining. Its main attributes are a ribbed bottom, cuffs and a high collar. On the stomach, two slanted pockets.
THE TEDDY
It is known as the baseball jacket, the sleeves of which are made of leather and the body of boiled wool. It was a means of distinction for North American university sports teams; the letters applied to the chest have also remained on popular models.
