Hello friends, here we go again for an episode of (Très) Bien Habillé, the weekly video to look good!
And this time, I would like to help your numb little fingers ... Your coat pockets, tired of carrying the weight of your hands in winter...
In short, I would like to help you buy a good pair of gloves , because it changes your life, believe me!
And to choose the right gloves, you have to pay attention to quality as well as style: What are the good leathers for gloves? And do they fear water ? What style of gloves for what outfit? And should they match the pumps? What color to choose?
If you want to know in more detail how we are going to answer all these questions, we will of course start with...
1. THE DIFFERENT GLOVE LEATHER
This is probably the most important element: what are they made of?
Although most quality gloves for men are made of lamb, animal origin alone does not tell the whole story. There are several ways of working these skins, several "finishes", which do not necessarily give the same result, nor the same advantages.

The “Napoli” deer gloves released here. I am also very proud to have participated a lot in their development. (Yes, I sometimes do that at our house!)
Finally, for those who would like to give themselves a very nice gift, know that other more special leathers can be found at the high end, such as deer, peccary, or capybara ...
And don't worry, I'm also going to talk about the lining , which is obviously not a point to neglect to keep your hands warm.
2. THERE’S SOMETHING FOR EVERY STYLE!
The classic glove, we all see what it looks like, roughly: smooth leather, a slit, three ribs on the back of the hand, and that's it!
But don't think that's all there is...

What's interesting is also knowing that different styles go better with different clothing worlds!
3. CASUAL GLOVE AND FORMAL GLOVE
Rather than showing you all the styles of gloves that exist, each little design variation (we'll never end it, I assure you), I'm simply going to give you the little tip that allows you to know if a glove is intended for rather formal or dressy styles, or on the contrary more casual styles!
4. MESH GLOVES
We will say a few words about it, because not everyone wears leather! And they have their own advantages, starting with an often lower price.

5. SHOULD YOU MATCH YOUR GLOVES TO THE SHOES?
You can ! The real question would rather be “when” should it be done?
If you're building a truly formal outfit (classic suit, professional and sober vibe, for example), then yes , it's practically mandatory.
If it's an "elegant" outfit (tailored pieces, but not the most strict, mix with other styles), it's an option.
If you're building a casual outfit... Why not, but it's far from obligatory , and sometimes, it's even a little too artificial for this register.
6. CHOICE OF COLOR

7. CHOICE OF SIZE
It's simpler than it seems! All you need is a measuring tape and a hand. (Otherwise it's a bit complicated. Still.)
The key is to know that a glove is supposed to be slightly tight in width when purchased, but will loosen up.
On the other hand, your fingers should not be blocked in length!
