Choosing the right knitted sweater – Parlons Clothing #32

Bien choisir son pull en maille – Parlons Vêtements #32

I am going to start this subject with a clarification: we should talk about sweaters, of which Larousse gives the following definition: closed knitted garment. Now everyone is talking about sweaters. Which comes from the English pull-over which means “pull over”, to put it on and take it off. So sweater or sweater, we are talking about the same thing.

But first, I'm going to tell you a secret: at the start of my passion for clothing, I didn't care about knitwear! Because I hated very simple, plain, thin, dark sweaters, with absolutely zero texture.

I found them boring... In fact, I didn't like sweaters that had nothing to say. A bit boring for a video on sweaters and knitwear you might say.

But little by little, I discovered fibers and their mixtures, knitting stitches and their textures. Because as soon as you move up in quality, it's a fabulous world: knitwear is full of softness, softness, comfort, warmth...

And from a style point of view, it's magnificent: there's texture, heather, and timelessness.

Everything you need to make them essential for a men's wardrobe worthy of the name.

And to make the right choice, in this video, I will give you my advice on materials and constructions, on synthetic materials and cuts, collars and colors. And of course, I give you all my favorite brands.

Here are the brands I mention in my video.

I recommend that you read our tests of sweaters and cardigans and this guide from Nicolò on woolens.

I'm wearing a BonneGueule sweater to be released next week and an Atelier Mesure Giro Inglese shirt.

Hey, we also make sweaters!
