Cheap Monday

Our opinion

2020 update: the brand has ceased its activity.

Although the brand has diversified, it is for its jeans that it is identified. T-shirts and sweaters are sold too expensive and have no real identity.

On the other hand, jeans should be considered for small budgets (between 50 and 60 euros), if we leave the subject of quality aside (it is better to invest in a piece that you will keep longer, in our opinion).

In addition, we have the choice with a wide variety of cuts and colors. Be careful though, some washes and cuts are in poor taste.

The history of the brand Cheap Monday

Cheap Monday, the famous skull and crossbones brand, was founded in 2000 in Stockholm .

Originally, three friends (Örjan Andersson, Adam Frirberg and Lasse Karlsson) launched a store called Weekend which only opened on Sundays and offered clothing at discounted prices.

Later, they expanded their business and opened a larger store, open during the week, which they named WeekDay this time. The latter mainly offers vintage clothing and jeans. It was a success and the denims, despite their price, sold like hot cakes.

As a result, Örjan Andersson came up with the idea of delivering collections of slim jeans accessible to as many people as possible. This seduced his acolytes and the three friends then launched Cheap Monday in 2004 . The first pieces sold very well and the label joined the Weekday Brand group.

H&M, attracted by this success story, decided to buy the brand in 2008. This allowed Cheap Monday to develop internationally while keeping its very rock style.

Today, it offers a complete range of ready-to-wear, particularly known for its denim, but not particularly for its quality .
