When you are passionate about clothes, you are on constant alert.
Like a gold prospector, we dig regularly in search of pieces that will quickly become precious to us, for their aesthetics, their effectiveness or quite simply their singularity.
And sometimes, we come across a nugget.
Here are four.
Olive double-pleated trousers s - Berg & Berg
We regularly mention Berg & Berg in our seasonal selections and guides.
And for good reason: it is a Swedish brand of good taste, both in terms of the accuracy of the proportions in its pieces and its interpretation of Italian elegance.
Belonging to a classic register, the clothes are well finished, made from materials
What makes me dream about them is more specifically the pants, and especially these ones. For three reasons.
First: its cut. Typical of the brand's silhouettes, it offers both ease and enhancement of the silhouette.
Volume in the thighs, a slimmer leg at the bottom, consistent proportions, everything I like.
Second: its double darts, making the difference with ordinary chinos and giving it all its elegance.
Third: its material, a beautiful velvet with a remarkable texture, but which remains discreet. It is very pleasant to the touch, thick enough for the cold season and fits well into the aesthetic of the room.

Since its olive color is not too bright, it goes easily with other colors that are, like here the caramel of the jacket. ( Paname Collection jacket, Maison Cornichon polo shirt, Loding moccasins).
Burgundy sanded cotton pants - Hollington
In the middle of the hunt for (real) sales, I had the pleasure of (re-)discovering Hollington, a French brand tested some time ago on BonneGueule.
Today, you can still find well-designed workwear pieces in very interesting materials at Hollington: tweeds, donegal, velvet, canvas... you're never safe from a nice surprise.
Still in my search for pants with a straight fit and consistent volumes
This one has a generous leg opening of 20 centimeters, something that we find more and more but not yet often enough for my taste
But it was especially its color that appealed to me: for a while now, I've wanted to try the burgundy color at the bottom of my outfits. I often came across shades that were too bright and therefore difficult to combine with others, until I came across this beautiful burgundy color.

It is a lightly brushed cotton, thick enough for winter.

Here I frame it with beige and brown tones. It fits perfectly there. ( Gant shoes, Uniqlo knitwear, Drapeau Noir coat).
What caught my attention was also the making of the piece: it was made in a small Italian family workshop, specializing in the assembly of men's pants for 28 years.
The brand works in direct contact with this independent supplier. This is rare enough to be underlined, at a time when the place where a garment is made has never been so important.
Burgundy derbies Made in France - Kleman
Another attractive discovery: Kleman, a brand historically specialized in work shoes for the army, the SNCF and other sectors requiring safety, robustness and comfort on the feet.
Today, the brand is turning to individuals with pairs with a workwear spirit, made in a French workshop in Anjou and offered at a very affordable price.
Obviously, for such a price and French manufacturing, the sole is glued and the leather is not overflowing with quality.
But the brand's strong point lies in the very successful design of its pairs, their comfort and their practical dimension. Coupled with the promise of a robust, standardized non-slip sole, these advantages make it a very good option for limited budgets and an offer that speaks volumes to me.

It is also certified anti-corrosion. If you ever step on a puddle of acid, or play "the floor is lava".
It was the Pastani model that caught my attention. Its shape, one of the brand's most conservative, conveys a certain workwear authenticity while remaining refined.

A well rounded tip as I like them.
Its simplicity gives it effective versatility, supported by its burgundy color which changes from the traditional dark brown.

Their fairly imposing volume naturally calls for wearing slightly loose pants with them, for a good balance of proportions. (Vintage Levi's pants, Uniqlo turtleneck, Muji shirt and hat, Drapeau Noir cardigan).
White smooth leather sneakers - Septième Width
We really like Septième Largeur for its very well made derbies, brogues and boots.
For a little over a year, the brand has also launched into sneakers. Intrigued by this new proposal, I looked into this model whose minimalist simplicity won me over.

The design is very well proportioned and the seams nicely outline the lines of the pair.
Equipped with a stitched rubber sole and very beautiful grained leather, it is a shoe which in my opinion should be among the essential basics of a wardrobe.
Regardless of the color ranges worn, it fits easily into most casual outfits without too many constraints. Something I really appreciate when I go on a trip and I have to limit myself to just one pair of shoes.
