How to Care for Your Coat

A coat is an item you wear often… but don’t wash very often, since it doesn’t touch your skin and, by its very nature, isn’t a garment in which you sweat much.

Here are our tips for properly caring for your Bonnegueule coat, so it stays in pristine condition for years to come.

One rule: dry cleaning

Due to its size, structure, and thick fabric, a coat cannot be machine-washed, as this may cause the fabric to felt, shrink, or lose its shape.

Take care of your coat by taking it to a dry cleaner for professional cleaning.

How often?

There’s no need to wash your coat often:

1 to 2 times per season is more than enough.

In between, remember to air it out from time to time.

Daily Care

Use a clothes brush to remove dust and dirt.

Hang it on a suitable hanger that is wide enough. Avoid thin, “wire-style” hangers that do not support its structure and may not be able to hold its weight.
