For the love of texture
This material stands out with its vibrant, very organic green hue, its reassuring density that gives it structure, and its slightly crisp touch. But what truly sets it apart is its slightly gridded appearance, adding a subtle charm to your outfits. This is a ripstop weave—a tear-resistant fabric—achieved by integrating a thicker thread into both the weft (horizontal) and the warp (vertical), creating a small rectangular pattern on the surface.
This additional thread enhances durability, ensuring greater resilience over time while also introducing a refined texture that reveals itself up close. And like any high-quality cotton fabric, it will develop a beautiful patina with wear, gradually accentuating its grid texture and telling the story of every moment you've shared together.
This unique fabric comes from Shibaya, a century-old weaver based in the Osaka region of Japan. In fact, we were already familiar with this material, having used it in a previous collection. Then, a few months ago, while taking inventory at one of our suppliers, we rediscovered a deadstock of this very special material, ready to come to life once again.
