What’s beautiful for you is also beautiful for the planet.
This denim holds a secret.
It is made of 100% cotton, with 54% regenerative cotton.
But what is it, exactly? It’s a new way of farming that mimics natural ecosystems, aiming to restore the health of fertile lands and positively impact soil quality rather than degrading it.
This approach takes a slower, more sustainable path to cotton cultivation, involving, notably:
- Limiting soil disturbance,
- Covering the ground with cover crops between harvests to protect it,
- Integrating livestock: while it disappears in intensive agriculture, reintroducing them to naturally fertilize the soil reduces the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
The result: an responsible denim that also respects those who cultivate it, with a dense hand, a slightly irregular texture, and one that only gets more beautiful with time, revealing a lovely natural patina.
We sourced this fabric from Evlox, a Spanish weaver with over a century and a half of experience in cotton fabrics. Originally, they produced robust fabrics for workwear and later for military clothing, then specializing in denim in the 1970s.
A Low Carbon Footprint
Choosing Evlox also means making an eco-friendly choice for cotton fiber culture. Indeed, 100% of the cotton in this shirt is grown in Spain, one of the few cotton-growing regions in Europe.
The cotton is then woven in Morocco, and the shirt is crafted in Portugal, meaning that the entire production chain is concentrated in geographically close countries. This rarity contributes to creating a garment with a low carbon footprint.
