New: our “archives” space, 4 rue Madame in Paris

Today, we are very happy to announce the opening of our Archives space, rue Madame in Paris. A special space, in line with our commitment to reasoned production and distribution.

And for those who have followed us for a long time, it’s a real dive into the history of BonneGueule!

Why launch an “archives” space?

BonneGueule has never carried out the slightest sales or reduced price marketing operation. As many people know, we have always preferred to tighten margins throughout the year, to offer you a competitive quality/price ratio even when brands are selling off .

This is possible thanks to our economic model without distributor and based on reasonable communication expenses, strong word of mouth, your loyalty and our economies of scale.

But even if our reasonable stocks always end up running out, over the years we have found ourselves with some problems to manage :

  • How can we promote beautiful pieces whose remaining sizes are spread across several stores and the e-shop?
  • How do we declutter our stores and the shop when there are pieces left, but only on one or two sizes?
  • How can we make these pieces available in store to e-shop customers?
  • Or even: what to do with this mysterious cardboard box forgotten, then rediscovered, at the back of a shop?!

And as it turns out that our store at 4 rue Madame (Paris 6th) has a beautiful basement, with three fitting rooms... well, there you go, you're thinking what I'm thinking...

As for shirts, it's quite stocked. With very textured fabrics from Naked&Famous. And we also see the famous big BonneGueule x Inis Meaìn cardigan. And the BonneGueule sweatshirt in vintage slow fleece from Toki, knitted on machines from the 1910s!

What are the mysterious clothes in this Archives space?

You will find parts that are sometimes recent (and that you thought were out of stock, ahahah), so which sometimes worked very well .

Here are some of my favorites (but there are plenty of others missing from the e-shop in the archives area):

Will it have my size?

This is the point that is not sure. It's sometimes a bit deserved, a former flash sell-out that has become an archive piece.

And what we see is that there are generally quite a few small sizes, or large sizes, and not much in the middle.

But at worst, we can always offer you a coffee upstairs and advise you on the rest of the collection, which is quite extensive in terms of sizes.

On the outerwear side, it’s very diverse too. They range from the Mide Firenze brand and its reversible technical parkas, to our ozone-washed selvedge denim jackets...

Will there be any promotions?

We expect to be asked the question, so we anticipate the answer: no

For us, it is a matter of remaining faithful to our convictions of fair prices all year round. And we also see no reason for sales of timeless pieces, in perfect condition, which customers sometimes describe as “collector’s pieces”.

Special case: old stocks of other brands

However, there is a small exception, which does not concern the BonneGueule brand, but partner brands.

In fact, three or four years ago, we could find other brands in our BonneGueule stores. We made this choice in a logic of complementarity, to complete our own brand which sometimes lacked choice at the time.

But that era is over, and many readers and customers did not understand if BonneGueule was a brand, a multi-brand, a media outlet, a style coaching company, etc. So it was time to part with her pretty pieces.

The following brands will therefore be 30% off: Hast shirts, Norwegian Rain parkas, a bit of everything from the late Marchand Drapier, Naked & Famous shirts, Cadot jackets, Sunspel polo shirts, Archiduchesse socks...

The shoes are not left out 🙂
