The western shirt: 5 outfits to wear it – Gimmick #10

La western shirt : 5 tenues pour la porter – Gimmick #10

It's been some time since I fell in love with the western shirt. I feel like after years of being obsessed with the chambray shirt, the western shirt is taking over.

And as part of the release of our western shirt on April 17, I wanted to do a whole gimmick on this garment, and the very interesting style possibilities behind it.

You will see - and contrary to what one might think - it is a garment that fits surprisingly well with a complete wardrobe, including blazers and suits.

In this video, I wear:

  • a prototype of our western shirt
  • a prototype of our workwear jacket

Jamie Ferguson : western shirt and gray suit

This look by Jamie Ferguson, menswear photographer and author of the book This Guy – Portraits of modern Men's Style, is the epitome of the versatility of a western shirt with a gray suit.

It's a contrast of genres that I love, and the loafers add an elegant AND casual element.

Ralph Lauren advertising: western shirt and sleeveless vest

Impossible to talk about western shirts without talking about Ralph Lauren, himself photographed in this photo.

He was a pioneer in the revival of this play, through this romanticized vision of the American cowboy.

Here I find the outfit almost a little too uniform between the jeans and the shirt in terms of color.

Fortunately there is the weathered brown belt and the color of the Tempco vest to brighten up the whole thing.

But in short, what I like about this outfit here is the “relaxed” side that emanates from it, this authentic energy specific to the brand.

And what I remember is that the western shirt + the sleeveless vest works really well !

The Dons Club : western shirt and jungle jacket

men's white pants western shirt

It’s simple: western shirt + jungle jacket = great style !

Here, it's a jungle jacket, but it can also be any other military-inspired jacket, like an M-65, or an M-51.

In terms of color, khaki and faded blue harmonize very nicely.

The white linen pants with tailoring influences add just the right amount of elegance.

Barbanera: western shirt and beige suit

Barbanera is an Italian shoe brand that has developed a wardrobe all around their universe.

We could call them "Italian RRL" because I find there is a very big cowboy influence in their clothes.

So it’s still a western shirt worn with a suit, but much more summery this time.

I'm less of a fan of the collar over the jacket, but this western shirt with the color of this suit exudes undeniable charm.

Giuliva Héritage: western shirt and blazer

So here is a photo from Giuliva Heritage, a very high-end Italian brand, but with an Italian relaxation and class that I really like, almost spectacular.

And here, it is the founder who is photographed, with this unexpected mix "jacket in Prince of Wales fabric + western shirt" which immediately catches the eye.

The wide pants with a relaxed belt add a very nice nonchalance to this nude.

And the tasseled moccasins weathered by time are perfectly in place and they echo the shirt, also faded by time.
