The story of these jeans begins 7 years ago . In 2017, we went to Italy to shoot a report on Candiani , this Italian weaver specializing in high-end denim, which you can find here:
Even today, I have not seen a cleaner, tidier and more organized factory than the one in Candiani, it was incredible!
At the end, to thank us for our visit, they offer us a small roll of unbleached selvedge canvas , with the famous red border on the side.
There wasn't much fabric, just enough to make a pair of jeans. So I chose to make a pair of custom jeans and I quickly fell in love with this fabric , its irregularities, with the very light particles of cotton on its surface that give it a raw look.
By the way, I think it was my very first ecru jeans and I loved it since it's a pair of jeans that I still wear very regularly. And after 7 years, I thought it was time to offer it to you in our collection.
This is a material that I know very well , and I'll show you how it has aged: very well! It is still as beautiful , and it will very gradually and slightly whiten over time.
The small organic cotton neps that give all the charm to this canvas will also fade but without ever disappearing completely.
It's these jeans, in this canvas, that made me love ecru jeans . Today, I almost only wear them, in summer and winter. And especially in winter, because I find that they brighten up an outfit!
I am therefore very happy to offer you our Renji jeans, in this Candiani canvas in 13.5oz organic cotton selvedge, spun, woven and dyed in Italy.
Here is also a little reminder of all the details and finishes of our Renji jeans that you appreciate so much:
