Spring Elegance: Discover our new Volpaia and Arles shirts
To accompany the release of our new suits , we offer you four shirts in fabrics that are as textured as they are airy. Because we care as much about your style as we do your thermoregulation.
The Volpaia shirt, light as air 🌬️
3 colors, 3 textures
This season we have selected three unique fabrics to dress our Volpaia dress shirt.
First of all, a white model in Giro Inglese . It is a white shirt whose appearance is different from other white shirts.
Its weave is made using two warp threads (vertical), one of which is straight and the other intertwined around it to create a captivating and above all very airy honeycomb texture. This weave creates little holes in the material that keep you cool.
You will warmly thank Mr. Giro (he does not exist) on very hot days.

Then, a sky blue model with a mottled appearance, visible by small white streaks in relief.
This is a 65% linen 35% cotton flamed fabric , with one weft thread (horizontal) woven irregularly, standing out on the surface of the fabric and creating small "neps". It is this charm of the irregular that has been so dear to us since our very beginnings.
And if you're wondering why we use the term "flamed", it's simply because its appearance is reminiscent of small flames.🔥
Finally, the highlight: a pale yellow striped shirt.
This warm yellow is super easy to wear. It's just a slightly warmer white in reality, which will perfectly complement your tanned complexion. You know, the one you'll have as soon as the warm weather arrives.
And what about that stripe! Yes, it’s embossed. Yes, you recognize it: it’s definitely seersucker . Texture on a stripe, that’s original. Discreet and yet remarkable for anyone who will be interested in your shirt (and we bet there will be some).

The devil is in the details
Our product team has worked hard to perfect these shirts down to the smallest details:
- We have slightly enlarged the chest circumference , compared to the old Volpaia. However, the slightly fitted cut discreetly hugs your sides. The length is designed so that you can wear this shirt comfortably, tucked into your pants.
- The open Italian collar has been lengthened by 1 cm : it is now 7.5 cm long. A significant gain in presence.
- The beautiful thick mother-of-pearl buttons are mounted on a shank and sewn in Zampa di Gallina (crow's foot shape): this discreet detail will be appreciated by lovers of sartorial art. ;)
I will now let Benoît speak about the collar of the yellow Volpaia shirt which has a particularity that cannot be seen but which can be felt:
Exceptionally, on this shirt, the collar is mounted with a free interlining. It is more commonly said that it is “free mounted”. But what does that mean?
Unlike a classic shirt collar with a heat-sealed lining, the interlining here is not glued to the collar fabric.
It is a finish reserved for connoisseurs that gives suppleness, life and fluidity to the collar. Moreover, during my first visits to Pitti Uomo, it was a finish that had struck me: the shirt collars of the most sartorial outfits that I saw were not placed completely like the others: it is all the subtlety of the free mounted collar.
But then, why this choice of assembly on this shirt in particular?
Simply to preserve the relief of the seersucker stripe! If we had applied a regular iron-on, it would have crushed (or at least greatly reduced) the subtle embossing of the stripe.
The only way to fully preserve the texture of this fabric was therefore this collar assembly.
Important point: this is a collar that is ironed a little differently. When the collar is flat on your board and with your iron, simply start from the tip of the collar and iron towards the center of the collar, and this, on each side.

The Arles shirt and its hidden texture 🤫
Why settle for one texture when you can have two?
In addition to its visible blue and white stripes, another reality appears when you approach the Arles shirt: yes, there is a herringbone pattern blended into the stripe!
Another feat from the Portuguese weaver Somelos, from whom we have selected materials several times over the past year.
This soft and supple cotton fabric is complemented by an officer collar which brings originality to your casual outfits and relaxation to your dressy outfits.
This shirt can be worn tucked into the trousers, slightly open, over a nice suit, or out, with the sleeves rolled up and with light trousers.
