Lacoste

Our opinion
Depending on the collections, it is possible to come across interesting creations . As for shoes, there's not much to recommend: many of the designs aren't great, and the presence of the crocodile detracts from the subtlety of the pieces. As for the Lacoste L!ve range, offered to a younger audience, you will sometimes find strong or successful basic pieces. This is far from being the case for the entire collection. The brand's polo shirts are generally worth their reputation. The other basic pieces, notably chinos, are of perfectly acceptable quality. There are still synthetic compositions to avoid. Concerning the quality/price ratio, the brand is not the most competitive: we would rather recommend Lacoste during sales or private sales periods. However, be careful with outlet offers that raise questions about the quality of the pieces.
The history of the brand Lacoste

Lacoste is a French mid-range ready-to-wear brand for women, men and children. In addition to its iconic polo shirt, it offers complete collections, from shoes to outerwear, including perfume.

Founded in 1933 by the industrialist André Gillier and the tennis champion René Lacoste, the brand is today identified worldwide through its logo: the crocodile, taken from René Lacoste's nickname. The latter launched the brand by inventing the iconic Lacoste polo shirt in order to be able to offer clothing suitable for playing tennis.

The Lacoste brand is widely distributed: an e-shop, dozens of its own stores in France, and a strong presence in multi-brand distributors. Be careful, however, of counterfeiting, which is widespread.
