“Informale” is an Italian word meaning “informal”. This means two things: 1. Steve Calder's love for Italian tailoring, its relaxation, its flexibility. 2. His attachment to casual, accessible, versatile and not too formal clothing. In this name concentrates all the intention of the designer who gives himself the mission of providing clothes based on a classic heritage but softened, made more versatile, more current thanks to relaxation. This gives what he calls “tailored casualwear”. For example, if we take pants. They are made in natural materials, 100% linen for example, with pleats on the legs, a high waist, that's it for the "tailored". And for "casual wear", it adds a waist with a drawstring and a not too fitted cut. Everything is made in Melbourne, from materials that come from Australia, Italy or England.
