IKKS

Our opinion

IKKS offers a sober universe, in the middle of which black and gray are omnipresent. The brand combines streetwear and casual chic inspirations for its men's, women's and children's lines.

There are pieces with decent style, but the quality is relatively poor. The pricing is therefore excessive given the materials used and the level of finish.

50 euros for a t-shirt, 100 euros for a shirt or pants and up to 400 euros for a parka: the prices are not attractive outside sales periods.

The history of the brand IKKS

IKKS was founded in 1987 under the leadership of Gérald le Golf and Viviane Peigné . They are launching a trendy and original ready-to-wear collection for children.

Initially, the brand was to be called "X", but its creators eventually turned to the phonetic equivalent of this letter, hence the name IKKS.

The clothes are quite far from what we usually find in junior ready-to-wear in that inspirations from adult fashion are prevalent. There is also a lot of black, which is not common in children's wardrobes.

In 1999, the brand successfully attacked the women's style market . In fact, the brand already has boutiques and a loyal customer base, which considerably helps the development of the women's line.

A year later, IKKS joined the Zannier group, which allowed it to develop its ancillary licenses such as perfumes and shoes.

In 2003, she launched her men's ready-to-wear line, IKKS MEN , with clothes with a streetwear influence and dark, cold tones.

The brand has belonged since 2015 to LBO France, an investment fund which notably owns shares in The Kooples.
