Dickies

Our opinion

Dickies is clearly in a workwear style (in the first sense of the term), a direct competitor to Carhartt .

It offers professional clothing but also casual clothing that can be worn by everyone. In France the brand was especially known from the 1990s when it was adopted by board sports fans and skaters.

The clothes fit loose and are of quality , again similar to Carhartt. The sizing is very American but they have still created specific collections with clothes that are a little more fitted and technical (blends of cotton, polyester, elastane, for better comfort and better hold over time).

Dickies clothing can be found quite easily in stores throughout France.

The history of the brand Dickies

Dickies is an American brand that was created in 1922 by CN Williamson and EE Dickie. The original brand name is WilliamsonDickie Manufacturing Company.

The brand specialized in work clothing and quickly became known throughout the United States. During the Second World War it was requisitioned for the war effort and to manufacture uniforms.

After the war, they started making work clothes again (shirts, pants, coats, denim, but also women's work clothes) and established themselves throughout the United States.

In the 1950s, the brand was exported to Europe and the Middle East. It is now established in more than 50 countries around the world.
