Cohérence clothing is not for those looking for value for money above all. Everything is very well done, there is no denying it: the clothes are made in Japan with natural and Japanese materials and the coats have a multitude of appreciable details in the structure or elements which constitute the design of the piece such as the belts, collars, etc. But the big difference between Cohérence and other brands of coats is that Kentaro Nakagomi is primarily inspired by New Wave cinema, the American literary movement of the Lost Generation, surrealism, of Dadaism, and especially of all the writers, directors, actors and intellectuals that these movements represent. Thus, Kentaro Nakagomi will try to reproduce the coat that Albert Camus wore in a particular photo. But simple reproduction does not interest him. He wants to transcribe the essence of the coat, through the play of volume and the obvious aesthetic characteristics, but also improve it as much as possible: thanks to the fabric and all the details that there are to discover on each piece.
The price of the coats is between approximately €1,300 and €2,200 in 2021. This is the price that the brand has set to buy a little piece of the dream that it offers us.
