The quality/price ratio is just right for most cotton pieces, and frankly, poor on knits and accessories. In any case, it is better to wait for the sales (often 50% off).
The manufacturing quality is average: regular seams, cross-stitched plastic buttons... And that's it. The shoulder seams are simple, the buttonholes of the jeans are not very clean and the collars of the sweaters are too thick.
The cuts are sometimes fitted, sometimes loose, but in all cases no particular work is to be noted on them.
In short, take it and leave it. It is advisable to have a discerning eye when buying American Apparel… And pay attention to the composition labels (lots of synthetics). Aiming only for cotton pieces is one solution, but in all cases, you will be buying more of a cool look than a sophisticated garment.
American Apparel was created in Montreal in 1989. The pieces are exclusively produced in Los Angeles and the brand takes care of its image by committing to charity and environmental protection.
The brand offers a men's wardrobe with US influences : loose t-shirts, baseball shirts, teddy bears, jeans. The collection also includes some accessories. The design is very casual – some would say slovenly – and there is a large use of pastel colors.
