The wool winter coat is an important garment, which serves a stylistic purpose (to look good on you) and a practical one (to keep you warm). Considering that you will wear it several months per year, we consider that it is important to invest in one that is thick and warm enough, mostly (if not entirely) made of a woolen fabric.

The main con on this budget: you will sometimes have to choose between style and material. Some very pretty nice looking ones will have sub-optimal compositions, or conversely some coats will have very nice materials but a fairly basic shape.
