Summary
This belt sold for $10,160.
Why such a price?
This is the belt worn by Captain America in the movie First Avengers . And we notice the small pouches attached to the belt. Indeed, Captain America does not wear backpacks, so he needs something to carry his gadgets.
When you think about it, he's not the only one who uses a belt with pouches: I'm thinking of Batman obviously, but also the Jedis from Star Wars or even your plumber.
Indeed, this type of belt solves a simple problem: how to carry your personal belongings WITHOUT a backpack?
Except when you're not Captain America, what do you do?
And above all... what objects do you need in everyday life when you're not a plumber, a Jedi or a superhero?

I would like to draw your attention to one point: as soon as you want to take a water bottle and a computer, I recommend without hesitation that you switch to a backpack , and I invite you to read my article on the capacity of a backpack on this subject.
What to take with you?
Carrying personal effects is all well and good, but we should know what we are talking about. In our connected urban lives, without the need to carry a multi-tool with 20 blades, here is what I think of:
- phone
- headphones
- small external battery allowing one or two recharges
- cable
- glasses/sunglasses
- hydroalcoholic gel
- keys
- tissue pack
- wallet
- small toothbrush and small tube of toothpaste for those who like to brush their teeth during the day (yes, I know some)
I kept this list simple, but fans of beautiful objects can enrich this list with many accessories. Type “titanium EDC” on Youtube or in a search engine to get a good idea of how far we can go…

Now let's look at a tricky case: carrying your personal belongings when you're wearing a blazer or a suit.
Carrying your personal belongings in a very formal outfit: the hardest part
I warn you: carrying a lot of personal effects in a very formal outfit without accessories is still super difficult , because you can only count on the pockets of your suit .
Indeed, any shoulder bag risks damaging and deforming the shoulder of your jacket. As for a backpack, long-term friction in the lower back can severely damage a wool fabric .
That said, it is also an opportunity for you to take only the bare essentials:
- for example, when you go to a wedding, do you really need to take your big wallet with your gym card and your three credit cards? I don't think so...
- Do you really need to carry a whole pack of tissues when 3 or 4 tissues in your jacket pockets will do?
- Do you really need to carry all your keys when this wedding is far from home?
If you can afford it, check out Robert Spangle's superb suit under his label The Observer, where he developed a design with lots of pockets inspired by the military world.
It's very beautiful, but it's custom-made and it's $2,800. That cools some ardor, but it's so rare that a brand tries to reinvent the suit!
If you really have a lot of things to carry, you will need to consider buying a clutch bag , briefcase or tote bag , to be carried by hand only.
The case of shoulder bags
It is the first choice we think of when we need to transport small personal effects.
The problem is that most of them are unattractive, but there are notable exceptions:
- Let's obviously mention the one from Bleu de Chauffe made in France, which will be perfect for any casual chic outfit.
- Again, The Observer brand with a very beautiful shoulder bag: the Indy. It is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful bags in its category , with very beautiful materials, original but elegant lines and judiciously placed nods to its military influences.
On the other hand, you see where I'm going with this, it's a bag that requires a big budget:
- There is the Filson option, but the prices have really increased , and you might as well stick with a made in France all-leather product with Bleu de Chauffe for almost half the price.
- You can also play on the opposite extreme, and take a shoulder bag with a futuristic look : I'm thinking of the Ukrainian brand D4bgs or Orbit Gear, with very modular gear depending on your needs.
And I repeat: do not wear shoulder bags with a blazer or suit!
But if you don't want to take a bag (which is often the case for me), what should you do?
Wear clothes with more pockets
This is the simplest option : to avoid carrying bags, you need more pockets on your clothes!
Of course, cargo pants are a must-have, and today they come in many styles that will fit perfectly into any casual outfit. My recommendations include:
- Edwin , 1083, Carhartt , Dockers, Dickies, Stan Ray, to talk about European brands. Without forgetting the vintage military models, which can be found at Universal Surplus for example.
- Very high-end Japanese brands systematically offer them: Orslow , Bryceland's, Real McCoys , Japan Blue , etc.
- And I still follow Maharishi 's cargo pants very closely, with whom we collaborated , who continue to offer cargo pants with creative designs.
- But military influence gave rise to a class of very practical clothing: military jackets.
Between a jungle jacket, an M51 or an M65, you have them at all prices, all fabrics, and all tastes. And very often, these clothes have 4 spacious front pockets where you can store a lot of objects.

In the Bonnegueule collection, you can find for example the Ravello jacket with its 6 pockets (4 on the outside and 2 on the inside) as well as the Kamikoshi pants with its 2 asymmetrical buttoned cargo pockets on the thigh:
