A fabric that takes you to Japan

Japan. This is where we’ve found the most beautiful chambrays in our 10 years of creating clothing, and Benoît wanted to find a special chambray that, to him, best represented its beauty. Our product team showed him nearly 20 samples before he settled on this one, with a color that leans beautifully toward turquoise and a texture that reveals just the right amount of irregularities.

This perfect balance is achieved on the vintage looms of the Nihon Menpu weaver. Operating these machines requires rare expertise, and maintenance is costly since replacement parts are equally scarce—but it’s worth it. Their shuttle moves slowly across the fabric, allowing the small cotton fibers (53%) time to emerge, showcasing their natural beauty. This beauty is preserved with a raw and organic treatment. The texture is further enriched by the hemp fibers (47%), which are, in our opinion, too rare in garments yet add a unique dry feel to the fabric.

Comfortable and Versatile

Its baseball cap shape pairs just as well with a navy blazer as with a gray hoodie, while its soft, unlined construction comfortably adapts to the shape of your head. It can also be easily rolled up and tucked into your pocket—just do it with care.
