We salute the history and know-how of the brand including French manufacturing and the use of French wools.
The range of jeans has expanded since we first mentioned the brand in 2015: still made in France, you will find a wide range of jeans in rather creative fabrics. You will find in particular jeans in 100% hemp, another model 45% wool 55% cotton.
Selvedge jeans with fitted cuts are still present, and you will even find a coat and a few jackets.
Atelier Tuffery (formerly Tuff's) is a historic French denim brand which has managed to inscribe its know-how in the French industrial heritage thanks to a family heritage which has been perpetuated since 1892.
After a prosperous period in the 50s and 60s, launched by the denim fashion by Hollywood cinema actors, the brand experienced a crisis which forced it to reduce its workforce in its historic workshop in Florac.
Today, the resurgence of “made in France” encourages the brand to continue its activities deeply rooted in family know-how, 3 generations old. The three Tuffery brothers continue to promote their artisanal and industrial heritage by making their jeans in the Cévennes, in Florac.
Julien Tuffery (4th generation) took over the brand in 2016, alongside a new team, and is working on a modernization of Atelier Tuffery.
