Our opinion
Percival has come a long way since 2010. Originally, the brand focused on classic basics of a rather understated taste, and always made in the UK. But over time, its concept has changed: now, the challenge is above all to produce good quality, on pieces that are both classic and offbeat, while adapting the production location in order to maintain an accessible price. You will therefore find a beautiful diversity of pieces inspired by a multitude of universes: "patchwork spirit" jackets, polo shirts with a worked style reminiscent of the 70's, Cuban collar shirts with crazy prints, t-shirts with a little Ramen-shaped embroidery, large knits with a very pronounced mottled effect... Percival's big advantage, in our eyes, is his ability to produce "fun" pieces while remaining, most of the time, in a certain "good taste". It's a brand that knows how to be crazy, but with a sense of proportion. Therefore, not everything in their offering is necessarily to our taste, but each season there is always a handful of very successful pieces, which captivate with their subtle balance between boldness and restraint, and which we not found elsewhere. For example, a shirt whose print represents roosters, and which is, against all expectations, very harmonious to look at, or even pants whose gray camo pattern surprises with its subtlety rather than ostentation... On the sourcing side, you can find pretty materials and textures. The fabrics are often Japanese or European. And the manufacturing varies depending on the pieces: certain shirts and blouses are made in Vietnam, the knitwear is often made in Portugal, while the outerwear is still made in London, for some of the pieces. A brand to know, and not to forget!
