Today we are very far from the identity instilled by Kenzo Takada.
After having lost its way for a long time in low-end franchises, the KENZO brand has relaunched itself to become a “hype” brand forgetting any notion of luxury (apart from the price).
If you are looking for ostentatious clothing with imposing logos , then this brand is for you.
We still find from time to time a few strong pieces that we might fall in love with, but overall, we'll look elsewhere.
The KENZO house was founded by a Japanese fashion designer, Kenzo Takada . He opened his first store under the name Jungle Jap in 1970.
In his early days, he refused to follow trends and shook up the fashion world with his kimono-style creations and floral prints. He is at the origin of the ethno-chic movement with his fashion shows of Slavic, Chinese, Japanese, African and Indian influence.
Its DNA is a clever mix of cultures. The brand was sold in 1993 to the LVMH group . He then retired from art a few years later.
